Annnnnd im back in my old habit of making giant walls of text again ahahahaha. dam.. I was doing better.
Tell you what. Lets start with the TLDR.
TLDR
I checked your OP.GG. Your probably going to be fine if you just keep grinding.
Just keep at it. You already hit old silver probably and its just a few more weeks of slogging thru the games that are just noise until you see that reflected on your account if you keep 55%.
Details for why I made this statement as well as my understanding on why your still in bronze. You can skip it if the TLDR is enough.
Why This seasons gonna be rougher.
You ended last year with b4 MMR, the new tiers redistributed Range expectations.
So, I use the term Titles for Rank and division. Because saying hey, im A Gold 2 player is a title just the same way that Masters class is a title. Last year, the lowest available title was bronze 5. This season its Iron 4.
There's 2 common views on what a title means and how its made in league. Some players think its population built, that riot wants X % of players to be given X title. Personaly I dislike that system because it has to impact individual LP gains and it makes the entire system unrelated to MMR. Its also heavily impacted by RNG issues like # of active and total players.
The other one is that a title is a set static value for an MMR range. if your 1201-1250 for example lets call that silver 3. s4 is below that and S2 is above that, rinse repeat. Theres an issue for some folks about the top and bottom but its easily solved by simply using a Soft cap on how the system treats players with extreme outlier MMRs and it has no impact on the rest of the ladder.
So, back on topic. New tiers this year. Well here is the thing. b5 to challenger is 27 possible Titles you can have. Iron 4 to Challenger with the removal of Division 5.... Is also 27 Titles. 5+5+5+5+5+1+1 = 4+4+4+4+4+4+1+1+1
Regardless of if you believe its population or static ranges... you have to admit the logical conclusion is there is going to be overlap. Iron is not Worse then bronze of last year.
So you being bronze last year likely set you up to be playing games in Iron MMR, but given the fact it takes an entire division of MMR to drop down and the fact (not actually a fact thou. this is my opinion.) riots trying to be sneaky and shift player perceptions with out impacting their systems functionality... Well correct me if I am wrong but my guess is you started bronze and remained bronze this entire season right?
Unless you had some MASSIVE loss streak at the start of the season I expect you to have been steadily gaining MMR given the total wins to losses. K factor calculations for an elo adjustment change the weight of individual games in relation to # of games so there is some importance on the order they come in but overall id say net gains thou im being lasy and not looking over your entire history to check the order they came in at.
So my guess, Your MMR was put into iron and riot gave you a Title that's wrong because they know titles mean absolutely nothing until there's enough games to support its accuracy. You have grinded this year, from Iron to new bronze, and now are climbing in new bronze to hit new silver. If the titles remained the same, I expect you would be already IN silver if this was last season.
I know this makes it sound a bit shady on riots end but sadly this kind of shit has to happen because players and people suck and perception has direct impact to game quality. If folks don't play competitively you have to trick them into doing it or remove them from the que. Making the guys who just gave up at the bottom of the ladder get terrified of sinking into Iron and start trying to improve and win actually makes the game better because it reduces the # of idiot teammates who just gave up on trying, and it still will allow for newbie accounts who are just bad at the game to sink naturally like every other year.
Personally… I m a fan of just being blunt but I don't have the $ issues to have to care about that requires me to care about maintaining high player populations. I'm not big on anything that's just for player perception. I don't give a shit about it if they have the wrong perception if I was a dev... so I probably would not be a good dev. "your wrong that's not what the hell we do. where the hell did you come up with this awful idea?" and "If your calling me a fucking liar then just quit the game you idiot. Look if your right then why support me and if your wrong and why should I care? End of the day only one of the two of us are Guessing, the other built the systems used and knows how it runs."
I don't think that goes over well with players, they like to be treated like a valued customer and there's that stupid phrase people think of..._ the customer is always right._ Any one whos worked retail or any customer service job can tell you that's utter Bs but what ever.
If you made it to the end of this. GJ mate, best of luck to you on the rift.
