There's something visceral about the playstyle. Nobody else in League affords such a sense of domineering power in the front lines; nobody commands as much presence as Darius does. The longer the fight persists, the more Darius can turn to his favour. Cruising after their carry after they've blown their resources getting away from that slippery assassin. Walking a death march straight toward them, spinning and spinning your axe at them. Watching the bleeds stack up. And then, when you're done with them? When the judicious end is due? You take them down in one clean hit and turn on the rest of their team, who now have a hyperaggressive juggernaut with bonus AD charging right back into them.
Nothing beats just running up and beasting a Caitlyn or a Nidalee or an Ezreal with that ult. Little bastards, sitting in the back with their poke.
His entire kit is basic, you've got spin, auto stim, and a pull. His ult is an execute and even if you biff it, you just lopped 200-400 health off their bar, easy, and probably scored the kill. Even behind, Darius can stand tall in a teamfight so long as he carefully plays away from being focused. His build paths are numerous and he can respond to situations with certain options.
Realistically, the reason I like Darius so much is just the overall theme. Big guy in big armor with big axe has pretty much been my jam since I started gaming online, I've always dug the armor-clad titan of terror. Darius translates it pretty much perfectly without being horrifically oppressive-- if you keep him at a range, it's a little like the scene in cartoons where a tall person holds a kid away by putting their hand on their forehead.
He's pretty unique in MOBAs. Nobody has that level of 'undisputed melee,' nobody feels quite like they're weaving swathes through the enemy ranks to take the prize head of the carry. He's got the perfect power fantasy in practice, and I personally think Darius is far from the worst thing to run into top lane. Good mobility and good range will usually keep him fairly well away, and without hitting enemies with his Q he doesn't have mitigation to speak of.
Honestly, I like Darius so much because he feels kind of like playing a Koei game. You're just so much bigger than pretty much any one person on the map... they'll be taking you in a group if they're going to do it up close and personal. The power fantasy hits home, feels like Darius, feels unique to him, and really defines the playstyles he can (and can't) take. You can run full tank on Darius, but he really facilitates that juggernaut 2/4 or 3/3 off/def. He's just so well put-together, it's a shame others can't meet that perfect mix of practice and paper.

. I'm already in love with him when I first buy him, he is just so amazing. I got S rate first match with him. Then i got a penta kill with him even tho my friend is feeding. Then I start playing more match with him he is just so strong. If you messed up just ult and everything will be alright. His ult basically gives him second chance and with
he could basically never die. His q slows with is a really important part of his combo. His W is useful for jungling because i usually Ekko jungle, what I love about his W tho is the movement freeze it just look fantastic. Then is his E dash through walls and auto instantly get him to enemy champ then q slow them and your passive would do a lot of damage.
right now for me, a lot of champs are good at punishing poor positioning. But Leona can keep one poor bastard locked in place for about 5 seconds if you chain everything right.
