There should really be a there-is-a-ward ping

With this ping it be easier to tell your support/jungle/mid/top to use sweeper over a place that u know there is a ward. This ping wouldnt disrupt the game play, but it would make the game more interesting and intense seeing how players use it

And like all other pings, it would be ignored.

it depends on what elo u are playing #bronzeforlife

You think people listen to pings in Plat and Diamond, you cray cray brah.

LIES!!!

not if you are in challenjour

Agree with Jamaree... pings are just ignored all of the time. That's why Rito limits the amounts of pings you can do, so you don't spam that squishy adc trying to dive tower 5 v 1. Just saying. summoner 3

Gotta love when your teammates ignore an important ping, then ignore the next three, then after you start spamming pings and they finally listen they complain that you don't need to spam pings.

FirstSergeantBim2 votes

Yessir you are funny. Nobody listens to my pings and that is funny, but still: shameful this is the top comment. Now Riot's going to see this thread, read the top comment and think, "Haha, NOT WORTH."

PINGS ARE SRS BUSINESS MAN!!! I've wanted this kind of ping for so long now. We get a thread with a bunch of upvotes and now you're ruining everything. This is why we can't have nice things!!! Throws tantrum like Amumu item 3070 Amumu item 3070

If there was one thing we needed, it's always been this.

Better death recap, east coast servers are close seconds though.

Aeolian Melodies11 votes

Yes especially since the "danger" ping is made completely useless by the separate "fall back" ping.

Raivica9 votes

Or, "ward this bush please"

iainB855 votes

They need to improve the whole ping system as a whole.

After playing a little Heroes of the Storm I've realized how much better it could be.

Even little things like pinging the dragon pit it should say, "Champion wants to rally at the dragon."

The map contextual pings really help communication without typing.

I think they should make a custom ping. I would definitely put "Enemy warded here" as my regular blue ping. I think it would save my jungle players so much time and stress. It would have to be a custom ping that was chosen from a list of popular recommendations though, or we would without a doubt see vulgarity rise without a way to mute it.

I hope that some day I can tell my jungle players that the enemy knows he's there with one simple ping. That would be a dream come true.

KennenYes yes yes!

I wish this was a thing. Especially considering a lot of players end up chat banned, and literally cannot communicate about wards. I get that it's their own fault for being chat banned, but a chat restriction on a player shouldn't adversely effect the ability to communicate specific important information in the game. Ward locations are too important. x.x

I really like this idea, I usually play with a group of friends over Skype, however since there are five of us all trying to cooperate I don't want to disrupt the conversation, so pings are still useful for us and this would definitely make it better.

JungHai04 votes

I once pinged where the enemy support had placed a ward, and typed "ward."

My support went over and placed one there.

I need that ping.

Occams Raiser3 votes

"This is warded" and it last three seconds on the map. This is an old request. Maybe they ignor it cause the want you to skype or use curse.

RIP Resonance3 votes

What about a ping saying your opponent has burned their summoners.

NommyPancake2 votes

There is a "Target Ping," where you press "G" on Turret, Champion, inhibitor.

I hope Riot can enable it to let us "target wards"

chipndip12 votes

Really wish Rito would do something about this. This would be insanely helpful. Do something with the danger ping and put the ward ping in its place. Then put danger on V with caution and split the circle in half so you can just pick caution or danger. Problem solved and a really useful ping is born.

Oberic2 votes

I've been using the "Danger!" ping to warn of wards. Since we have the "Be Careful / Fall Back" ping anyway.

Saianna2 votes

Is it REALLY that needed?

Imo "warning" red ping works just as good..

Kilane2 votes

Yes, as a support player who are busy zoning, harassing or defending, having to type there is a ward when our jungler comes every time is...annoying.

Xuan Xuan2 votes

I agree. As it is now, I usually just end up spamming danger pings and hoping the people on my team u understand.

Kevin Macaraeg2 votes

they should add it

Gigahappytown1 votes

Or just take the 1 second it takes to type "ward" and ping the location?

diamondlight9 votes

You're taking your hand off mouse to do it as well as taking your other hand off qwer. Typing text is not the best thing to try to do in a timely manner, especially during anything involving a skirmish, trade or fight. If you don't hit enter or ESC while typing, you'll also be spamming your abilities in the chat instead of fight.

Either way, of course when nothing is happening around you it's easy to type. The point of keyboard shortcuts, etc. is so that you can do it without interrupting what you are already doing (fighting, csing, trading, team fight, etc.)

Gigahappytown2 votes

In the time it takes for you to ping you to ping objectives you could of already said it in chat It doesn't take more then 2 seconds for basic communication. If you can't type fast you shouldn't be playing mobas on a competitive level Its very much a required skill "spamming abilities in the chat" is your own fault for panicking

I don't need more annoying pings for shitters to spam. Average ranked game has me telling players to fuck off without them saying anything to me.

That is still 2 seconds that your hand is not on your mouse.

League should have built in keys to communicate the basic concepts of the game so typing is never a requirement.

The reason pings are often found annoying is because they are not implemented well right now. Other games have done a much better job with this and people don't find them annoying at all.

I mean, I wouldn't expect you to know this, but 2 seconds in plat+ is 200+ points of FREE damage. Those 2 seconds cost you a potion and then some. But again, I wouldn't expect you to know this.

RetroRage961 votes

You don't actually have to take your hand off of QWER. Think about it.

Treyen1 votes

is that hard to type? i mean really...

MarhsallLee678 votes

When you're in a game where stopping for even 2 seconds can mean losing a chance to get a kill or an objective, or mean that YOU get killed and the enemy team gets that chance to take that objective... the answer to that question is a big ol' "yes." Typing while playing League is a dangerous game.

Treyen1 votes

it doesn't take 2 seconds to type "ward" as you ping a spot....

I do believe 4 pings is just fine. Its not even that hard to type there is a ward, and then just ping the location(s). or just use a danger ping

None of these these things are efficient, and efficiency is the name of the game when it comes to pings.

4 pings (technically 6) are not enough, because they do not relay all the information you, as a player, would like to convey.

Typing in "ward" doesn't tell your team if there is a ward there or if you want them to ward there. It also takes time that could have been spent moving, attacking, using abilities etc.

The Danger Ping is next to useless. It doesn't give anyone any new information that the "fall back" ping doesn't already give. It doesn't tell anyone there is a ward there (except your jungler, maybe, when he's coming to gank). On top of that, it is easily the most annoying sounding ping in the entire game.

Always thought it was league of legends, but owells

Lol 4 pings (technically 6) is perfectly fine. like I said ward then a quick danger ping. why on earth would you tell someone to ward and then immediately mark that area as dangerous? Granted it does take a bit of common sense, but i doubt thats very hard to come by. Lastly, you do realize you can move AND type at the same time. What a truly marvelous time we live in.

Welp. Its a danger ping. It means danger. Watch your back, not fall back. I dont see how it doesnt help with wards. Ussualy when an area is pinged with it, it GENERALLY means keep away from that particular area. Its not supposed to sound like a smooth jazz mix or anything, it means danger. Not get down and groove

Maximum Zilean1 votes

There should also be a "Request ward placement here" ping.

OshGoshBoGosh1 votes

when i play in ranked and with friends for fun, typically a straight ping signifies a ward... danger means player... mia means well, mia... assist me means here we go boiz.

this actually tends to workout just fine. but in lower elos i have no idea...

I Main Swain1 votes

why aren't smart wards a part of the HUD update?

hgjkdlsaf jeldvb1 votes

It'd be nice. Otherwise, I have to ping a spot and say ward, which is less useful. Also, the danger ping does the same thing as the fall back ping.
