How to get better at ranked?

Hey so I recently got into ranked and I got placed into bronze 4. Throughout most of my ranked games im absolutely terrible with my usual main Nasus. In ranked I think my kda with him is like 1.4/5.3/3.3 with a 6% winrate. However when I play normal games, I always carry my team ad my nasus Kda in normals is 6/3.8/4.9. I'm not sure why I'm so much worst in ranked than I am in normal. I have lost all my diginity. Oof. Should I be playing ranked differently? Can someone give me some advice? Thanks a lot.

I stopped playing normals for this very reason. I'd play a normal game go 14-3 on Vayne 3 times in a row, think I'm the shit, go into ranked and go 0-11 3 times in a row. Normals is not the place to learn if your intent is to climb the ranked ladder. You have to play ranked games only.

Also, if you just started ranked, don't expect to do well. I spent my first season in Bronze, the next 3 years in Silver and only yesterday I got Gold for the first time on an alt account.

The thing is there's a big difference between ranked and normal games. Normal games are a lot about trying to learn new matchups and champions and someone might be less familiar with their champion than you. So if it feels like you're dying too much in lane in ranked, it's because people know the matchup and how to punish you while you're stacking.

The other big difference is nobody in normals cares about macroplay, Nasus' biggest weakness.

So if you're wondering what macroplay is, it's knowing how to play the map to your advantage. In Nasus' case, while you're weak and unable to group up for fights they should go for objectives and take towers. If they do that, your entire team falls behind and you're not strong enough to make up for how ahead their team is.

Also, I looked at your stats, Dark Harvest is not a good rune for Nasus because he has difficulty killing things, so it doesn't help him to stack it. You'll probably want something that's stronger on him earlier in the game.

If you look through this page you can see that the two most common runes are Conqueror and Grasp of the Undying. The most common secondary is the Inspiration tree for the cooldown reduction. I think you should go for Grasp and the CDR rune in the inspiration tree, then Magical Footwear in melee matchups and the Biscuit Delivery mastery in ranged matchups. Also, make sure your stat shards reflect the matchup you're going against (armor into champions that deal physical damage, and MR into mages).

One of my favorite youtubers, Phy, has some good instructional videos if you have time to watch some. Take everything with a grain of salt because he’s an ADC player and not every bit of advice works for everyone. But when I started playing rank I was B5 and then 2017 I finally started really playing rank and watch his vids and got to B1. Last season I got to silver and this season I’m going to get gold.

Learn like 3 champs and all their ins and outs and matchups. Then just stick with them. Last look up videos how to play macro from the lanes you like.
