Infamous Matchmaking at it again!

I heard about Riot's infamous matchmaking before, and on my rise to 30 I had some unfair games (most people on silver and even some gold) but this is just insane...

I got matched against a Diamond V Kha'Zix and a Platinum IV Akali, i don't know what Riot thinks of how good I am (lol) but all I can say is: how did this even happen?

I'm just wondering when this will be fixed, this grind is already extremely infuriating...

unfortunately what it comes down to is the fact that the high elo players were probably in a party with one of the lower ranked players or it was 2 different parties with the lower ranked players. the same kinda goes with the level 30's on your team they were probably partied up with the sub 30 players.

The kicker is that most people will say let it slide it is just a normal get over it ect ect ect but the fact is that "normal games" matchmaking does not really look at what rank you are in solo/duo queue it basically takes the summoner levels and tries to even it out.

Unfortunately you got a raw deal from this and i can say that i have also experienced this when playing with friends who are not level 30, one game apart from 1 sub level 30 the lowest rank of opposition was a gold 3 and highest being a diamond 2 whereas my team comprised of unranked, and bronze/low silver players. This has also been going on for years and nothing has been done about it and probably wont.

The general point that will come across from many of the members here is get over it move on it wont happen often ect ect ect but i know how annoying and frustrating it can be and really a waste of your time.

so much for ritos statement of "Matchmaking will give both sides an even chance of winning"

ah yeah, but then they preach buzzwords like "toxicity" as if where the player's fault when matchmaking imbalance is responsible for much of the toxicity in the game.

The plat/diamond player's normal game elo is probably really low if they hardly ever play normals

I know how you feel. I still remember when it revealed premades too.

Well typically pre level 30 games are fucked because the game doesn't do well at matching people who aren't 30 with people who are.

lol? i get matched with diamonds all the time. rank doesn't matter you're retarded.

The other day I saw a plat 5 Zed stomp a silver 5 Riven. I was kind of disheartened because every lane lost and they were up dragons, towers, and CS. Turns out their lowest ranked teammate was still three divisions higher than my team's highest ranked. We never stood a chance.

the fact that it's a normal game is a weak excuse. it's still a minimum of 20 minutes you have to pay through this, and some times more if you got 2 players who can't take a hint, or they vote no because they hate their team.

being stomped sucks, especially when you know you have no chance of winning from the second the game starts.

yeah. while leveling this acc i was put vs a master and a diamond 1 and a diamond 5. granted my team had a d5 and a plat. that being said the d1 "spreekasmurf" is a master tier players diamond 1 smurf acc.

Ranked MMR and normals MMR is entirely separate, so that doesn't necessarily make no sense. The Diamond and Plat players probably don't play normals very often, or at least, they probably usually duo queue with players that are placed much lower.

Seriously. Imagine the terror if you went into normals for some casual Leagueing with some lesser skilled buddies and got your ranked MMR nuked from high orbit. No thanks.

It may be worth checking your team's Yasuo and Kalista to see where they were ranked last season. They've played enough games that they should have been pretty close to their expected ranking.

Ranked Queue has no effect on your Normal Queue...

FluxBound3/27/2015, 5:47:39 AM1 votes

Well, I think this is because A) they were in a party with someone B) If you look at Ranked Wins/Losses, Akali's and Kha's combined is around the amount of Kalista alone. Although their only in silver, they play kalista and seem to work a lot harder. With that little games, the other guys like like someone who just did promos and a few matches

With the Fredrick Fucks matchmaking system, winning ranked is a thing of the past, and introducing a new technology witch matches you with silver players against a platinum team.

Yep, matchmaking from 20-29 is complete crap, perhaps Riot think we no longer count as "new" players and are happy to drop you into completely unbalanced games. Its broken, a quick google will show you its been broken since 2013 / forever.

When team rewards were announced I grouped with 4 randoms, one of which was level 20 or so. Rest were 30.

Enemy team had a level 8... and only one guy at 30.
