Victorious Skins

My boast is about the Victorious Skins in general, Why do you have to limit it to Only ranked players ? What about players who enjoy playing Aram more than summoner's rift, I for example hate playing in the rift as it takes way too long for a casual game play ! Not to mention the toxic and negative community of Ranked players that Riot Can't control no matter what they do...in Aram if you are good you can prove yourself and lead your team to victory unlike in ranked...you Must have at least 2 decent lanes to achieve victory, not to mention the unbalanced teams and bad match making along with the "pre-made party" option in solo queue that screws up the whole team and usually include a smurf carrying someone else OR a team mates trolling or flaming even before the game starts and you can't leave because you gonna be banned and lose LP and end up losing because the fight lasts during game...etc to conclude there are Many bad experiences in ranked which drive many players to avoid it by not playing it at all.

My suggestion is Not to limited Victorious Skins to ranked, why Not reward good players in other "non ranked" game modes such as twisted tree line or Aram ?? for example a player who "solo queued" his way into 100 wins or 200 wins a victorious skin as well or at least a chance to buy it !! Neglecting such prizes to Aram drove player to Never consider the mode seriously, many times I encountered players who deal with Aram as a bot mode ! without any care for losing or building right...this is pretty much is the first step for losing interest in aram such as the dominion experience ! why Not value other player who try to avoid negativity in ranked and have a good experience in a faster based game mode ??

I used to main Morgana and started to buy all her skin but once I knew there was once a Victorious Morgana couple of years ago "even before I started playing league" I felt frustrated and stopped buying the rest of her skins because I knew I'd never have the chance of owning her whole set as my main champion ! Now I play champions I own casually since I know if I main one I may never be able to get his whole set of skins for some reason.

Why not spread the "Championship Riven" experience and make it better since this experience has a bit of discrimination to it among players because of the 2 versions of skins. Yet The only 2 reasons anyone could reject such experience either he's a child with a greedy feeling of not wanting Anyone else to own what he has Or to sell the account illegally in the future and wants the price of the account to be high with limited skins, How is it fair to be excluded from owning something simply because we were too young to know about the game or understand it and play it ??!

Introduce us "New Players" to those old skins as rewards, and make us share our achievement by the victorious skins in other modes Not just ranked ! I ask you to appreciate the players who love other game modes, Yet you Can easily still define us from the ranked owners by adding a skin boarder during the loading screen to prove their achievement of that skin in that specific mode, why Not make our years of game play meaningful ?! what's the Goal for me reaching Platinum or Diamond in Aram without getting Any appreciation in return ?? People who wasted years on Dominion got an icon and still they were frustrated and sad about that, why Not show some appreciation for players who enjoy other game modes and why not start that Now ??? Or if you Only force people to play ranked to get a reward then simply remove all other game modes and force everyone to Only play ranked, regardless of how disappointed we feel about the end result of that, I hope this made sense and I hope this show you a window for change.

Because Victorious skins were made for those who achieved a higher goal. If that was the case you are making now, everyone could get it, so there would be no point in doing ranked at all.

The post has a point there are many problems with ranked and these problems face low elo players more than high elo players and riot know that and can't do much about it such as smurfing, boosting a friend or a smurf account then selling the fact accounts online. there are even sites for buying elo boosting that also provide live chat with your booster LMAO, if victorious skin was meant to be a reward for achievement then it's not excuted right. it should be an achievement that everyone has a chance for, in every mode aram = twisted tree line = rift regardless of what kind of achievement of couse as I'm sure it'll differ from each mode to another. but it Must be available for everyone to achieve not 1 specific mode and having many chances to buy/win it will be a huge slap to this illegal market and will make tons of legal money for riot instead paying for smurfs. saying ranked only played for the skin is extremely inaccurate, if your words are true then people would settle for G5 and leave like few players do but most players compete to achieve their own desired rank regardless of the victorious skin being available or not, that's why you have platinum diamond master and challenger tiers and they all have secured the skin yet they still play, most high elo players secure the victorious skin only by playing their placement matches lol and soon the old limited skin will never be seen or played because those old player will get older, busy with their lives and what not I hope riot someday see the fact in this and give a chance to introduce those skins for new players judgmental kayle which was a compensation for S1 low elo ranked player, was never given out in any other season where's justice in that ? I hope the limited skin concept will reach a complete end in league I feel the wind of change has started with championship riven and I hope it never settle until we all have our EQUAL chance in getting what we like in this game

Tbh I just don't see why they can't just re-introduce old Victorious skins via the Hextech Crafting system. Seems like the most viable way, and that being said who really cares about a skin that was made limited edition in season 2 unless you're an arrogant douchebag.

Sukishoo4 votes

Because they are rewards to players that reached the rank of gold or higher, it would take away the specialness of the skin if you made them avaliable again in another.

I own Vict Morg and don't think other people that came later should be able to have it cause they weren't here then, they didn't take the time to reach that goal.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Sound immature and selfish lol. It's a skin, I don't understand why you care so much.

Sukishoo3 votes

lolwat. Not even. The players that spent the time to climb and achieve the goal got a reward, so you don't deserve it for doing nothing... it's not selfish to want something that we worked for and others didn't.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Meh. I don't understand it. It's a skin, seems stupid and selfish to me to hold so much sentiment. The Championship Riven situation was just as bad, if not worse. The skin wasn't even earned, and yet people still didn't want it re-released. Some people weren't lucky enough to be around in season 2, seems dumb to cut people off because of that. People are boosted anyways, it's not like anyone earns the skins to begin with.

Sukishoo3 votes

Then don't come to a conversation if you don't understand it... it's that simple.

Like Pexagon said if anyone could get the skins then there'd be no point in doing ranked at all. It's a reward for climbing the ladder.

Champ Riven was nothing. They previously re-released 34 skins that were limited edition, Champ Riven was just the next one. Victorious skins however are an achievement for reaching Gold or higher, those should never be subject to the treatment that the previous 35 limited skins have gone through.

Judgement kayle was given out for players that played 10 games in season 1, it was more of a gift for playing the start of a game rather than achieving anything in it. Seeing a judgement kayle doesn't really show anything since even bronze players have it, but seeing a victorious skin you earned shows your opponent some respect with that champion, but the problem is you can't pick which victorious skin you get and if you lack the one on a champion you main, then it feels disrespectiful to you not recieving the award representing what you climbed as.

Sexy Jack Rabbit1 votes

Tbh I'm pretty impressed to see that skin. Being Around since Season 1 and sticking with League is an Achievement in itself. Seeing a Victorious Skin normally tells me the person was boosted.

It isn't just available on the Rift, you can easily play 3s to get it, and it is a lot easier to get on 3s than it is on the Rift.

Aram shouldn't be an option no, never.

Aram doesn't show skill, dedication.

Boosting was only a problem this season. DQ made this entire season pure cancer.

You are claiming you want an equal chance at getting the skin? Let me tell you something. You do.

Go play the 400-500 games of ranked to get it like everyone else. It takes time, yes, it takes practice, yes. Quit thinking the world owes you something, instead, go out ans work for it.

The old skins are meant to show the veterans. I remember when I saw the first time I saw Championship Riven, I immediately fell in love and it was my favorite skin since. Those skins are to show the dedication to the game, not just once and done.

TBH, I hate the fact they bring skins back to make money. Whats the point in them being legacy when you can buy them every December. So it is nice to have some skins that you can never get anymore.

Boosting was always a problem, people would still climb to gold either way (its not hard boosted or not) without it. The main issue with victorious skins isn't the boosting, but they promoted account buying. Victorious skins are literally cashgrabs for smurf accounts that have no interest in keeping that account.

Victorious Skins aren't legacy and they're meant to show a player climbed to gold and did achieve it. We get one every year, but in about 80% of all cases few actually "main" said victorious skin for that champion or have no interest in playing it until they get the skin. Not saying every champion should have a victorious skin, but they shouldn't be as restrictive, and if you did main a champion who owned a vic skin, you should have access to it for achieving the requirements to get the skin. (just getting to gold, nothing more). You should feel your achievement respresents your exact achievement rather than just a free random skin from a mystery gift basically, a janna playing climbing to gold wouldn't be represented by victorious sivir, her adc she sees bot lane all the time. A jarvin player who hates elise wouldn't be represented by victorious elise. I'm a one trick elise main so literally anything I get I'll probably never play, meanwhile victorious elise exist back in time.

Legacys in general shouldn't be cut off, they all are just casual skins with a seasonal distribution and usually sucky ones with little difference. Older skins were once sold in shop and available but taken down for the sake of space rather than achievement, people should still be able to buy the skin at some point.

I wasn't referring to the Victorious skins in this part, it was more of a comparison between them and Legacy skins.

This is highly subjective. Personally, getting Gold in SR is a breeze compared to getting Gold in TT.

Aram shouldn't be an option no, never.

Aram doesn't show skill, dedication.

How does it not? Grinding ARAM MMR isn't that different from grinding SR MMR. ARAM just tests a different skillset.

Go play the 400-500 games of ranked to get it like everyone else. It takes time, yes, it takes practice, yes. Quit thinking the world owes you something, instead, go out ans work for it.

I'd be okay with grinding out 400-500 games of ranked to get season rewards. I just want the option to choose what map/mode I do it on. Within reason, of course.

Hyperiön1 votes

"This is highly subjective. Personally, getting Gold in SR is a breeze compared to getting Gold in TT."

Me and some friends made a ranked 3s team, we won all of our promo games to surrender vote, got B1, played a few more games, and we were getting 40lp a win. Right now we are like 15-2, skipping series when we get to them. It is so much easier to play 3s than rift. You can control every aspect in 3s, where in SR, you can only control 1, or more depending on how many people you play with.

Minarde1 votes

Again, my experience is completely opposite. I hit Gold in SR after 20-30 games, despite typically only ever playing SR for season rewards. Meanwhile, my TT team is struggling from inconsistent members and inexperienced teamwork.

It is so much easier to play 3s than rift. You can control every aspect in 3s, where in SR, you can only control 1, or more depending on how many people you play with.

You're comparing a full premade to solo queue. Of course you'll have more control. However, the enemy team has the same advantage. Plus, there's the standard difficulties around ranked teams, like gathering a bunch of motivated people and working out schedules.

Hyperiön1 votes

Then you aren't ready for it yet, you don't have the team comp or strategy for it.

We created our comp specifically for 3s, and its never banned out because they are unconventional picks.

Minarde1 votes

Doesn't that sorta go against the "It's easier to hit Gold in TT" argument? All the prior preparation should count too. Comparing hitting Gold after flailing about in SR and more quickly hitting Gold after a bunch of planning in TT, the total effort should end up about the same.

Honestly, which one's easier still seems subjective and dependent on various factors like individual skill levels, communication, champ pools, map experience, and so on.

You clearly haven't been playing long enough cause Championship Riven wasn't even the first Limited Edition skin to return to the game.

http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/store/sales/plan-vintage-limited-edition-skins

Those 34 skin were all former Limited Edition skins, so they started it, not Riven.

Sukishoo1 votes

Yeah, there's even several others that have very little chance to return due to how they were released originally.

Probably never: Silver Kayle - Retail Collector's Edition) Black Alistar - Digital Collector's Edition - Preorder Young Ryze - Retail Collector's Edition - Preorder Triumphant Ryze - win an official League of Legends tournament King Rammus - awarded to players who participated in Closed Beta UFO Corki -awarded to players for voting in the Reader's Choice Awards 2009

Others Riot said MAY return: Rusty Blitzcrank Urf the Manatee Riot Squad Singed PAX Sivir, PAX TF, PAX Jax.

Actually they recently said they might re-release them http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/community/q/urfwick-wants-loot-box-and-voice-chat-and-better-support

For giveaway only and previously sold skins, such as Urfwick, it’s possible that some version of those skins could return via Hextech Crafting or some other means.

Giveaway only being the PAX skins.

Tormentula2 votes

I'd really like if victorious skins returned via hextech crafting or just giving us a pick option instead of a victorious shoved on us.

Its one thing to give us a limited skin, but giving us a limited skin that we don't even want is another problem. Why as a one trick elise main should I get victorious sivir? Just because of that number the season represents? I didn't rank in season 5 but that will basically be the same logic this season whenever I get my skin for climbing to gold 5 as elise. I don't see what achievement I did this season that a season 3 player did differently.

I really can't see why victorious skins can't have seasonal borders and years in the name like championship riven 2016 compared to championship riven.

Now I don't agree that victorious skins should be given out for aram or TTL, thats just plain silly. ARAM isn't a competitive gamemode with an elo or ranking system, its an RNG bloodbath that nobody can play perfectly, which is why its a decent mode if you don't really know what you want to do. TTL doesn't have a soloq ladder making it very easy to literally find a ranked team thats gold, join it, and do nothing at all in it just to farm victorious skins. Asking for victorious skins in those modes is like asking for victorious skins for urf mode.

Minarde1 votes

Every PvP mode has MMR (i.e. elo). This includes ARAM. There's absolutely differences in player skill level there.

TTL doesn't have a soloq ladder making it very easy to literally find a ranked team thats gold, join it, and do nothing at all in it just to farm victorious skins.

The same restrictions apply to all ranked teams, both TT and SR. 10 wins is the bare minimum.

Nothing makes sense about this post.

If you got them from aram and playing normals then ranked queue loses some meaning and players.

If you can just get victorious skins from crafting later then...... the skins literally mean nothing? Wow... didn't think that had to be explained.

Its literally one freaken skin...... Its cool because yea not everyone can get one every season. It takes some work and some learning. Its still not that hard of a goal if you really want it. Its a nice reward for spending a lot of time improving at the game. Like honestly... why shouldn't people who have dedicated a lot of time grinding the ladder get a unique reward?

If you want a free skin stop your crying and play some freaken ranked. And honestly ARAM literally means nothing. Like....nothing at all. Being good at ARAM is not really a thing and means nothing as far as actually knowing the game.

Victorious skin reward means you learned the game to a certain level. You grind the ladder to prove it. (unless your boosted then your just a boosted PoS). Whats wrong with receiving something for this dedication?

Minarde2 votes

Having Victorious skins available from just hitting a certain number of wins causes the same issues as the Dominion icon. It makes the reward much less meaningful when the same reward is given out to essentially everyone, regardless of skill level.

Ideally, Riot would either release additional ranked queues so that players would have other avenues to demonstrate skill besides just SR (and TT team). Alternately, just have a ladder or visible MMR for the other modes, and award season rewards to the top players. Coincidentally, Riot already asked Dominion players about alternatives to a ranked queue years ago. Unfortunately, they did absolutely nothing with the feedback.
