Clash is Pay to Play. (No completely free Team Ranked)

The competitive game mode Clash is Pay to Play, with Blue essence, RP, or the currency through rank flex queue. In my opinion, as league is a free game, this is excluding players who don't play a lot, or who can't afford to pay. I play league, but I don't own all the champs, and if I have to hinder my work to get all the champions which cost an insane amount in total, as someone who hasn't been playing for a very long time, I don't really want to have to give up my progress to play. I know there's gonna be Just don't play it then.

But it's the excitement of playing as a team, versus other teams, who are all trying to play and have serious games.

Bring Clash in, Good! But why can't ranked teams come back too? We're seeing a trend of removed features coming in soon cough Rengar cough , so why can't teams come back as well?

**This is something that I am unsure if this is how this works, so if this isn't how it actually works, I apologize and will edit out: ** Another factor is Flex 5, playing against two teams, essentially, one group of three and one group of two. So in essence, there isn't really garenteed ranked 5v5 anymore. If this is wrong please just tell me politely.

I believe there's also a factor in ranking up as a team (the old team ranks had that too!) .

To conclude, my major point is this:

I think the hype around this was more of the return of Ranked teams, ranking as a team, not having a team composed of something like:

Plat II Silver I Gold II Diamond V Plat III

, but as just

Team rank: Stapler VI.

When ranked teams were around, and we were in promos, it was serious. But if it's Flex 5's, and someone is promoting, it's hard to get everyone hyped around it. Teams also just bring people together, Flex 5's is sort of hard to.

Just seeing this now, that the reasoning is because of the prize pool. But like stated earlier, I think a lot of the positive energy towards this game mode was because of ranked teams coming back, not all exactly the prize pools.

And making Clash/Team Ranked play essentially limited to those who don't want to pay or for those who don't want to spend essence is unfair.

EDIT: I do agree with the game mode having a price as all champs are available to everyone playing, but I still think Ranked Team should come back. Which was the purpose of this article.

Just remember: The loss of ranked teams was the result of dynamic queue

IIRC, all champions are unlocked for Clash. And the point of having a buy-in of some kind is to make sure everyone in it is taking it seriously, and not just trolling

I agree with you with what you're saying about the buy in, but, if five people were to come together to just troll in games, I think Riot would realize this and eventually implement a report system. But I don't think anyone that cares enough about league to play Ten Ranked games, gather four other friends, would just do it to troll. But I do see your point, but all I saw from Riot was about the prizes, not from trolling.

Ranked Flex is just too close as a Ranked Team queue. It just looks unnecessary.

I can agree with that to an extent, but if what I said earlier about how you aren't garenteed a stable 5 premade vs 5 premade (In flex), then I see no reason for Ranked Teams not to come back. Everyone loved them, and if you didn't, you just didn't play it. Whenever I'm playing with two friends, I find myself asking if we can find two more for 5's, but even when we do get to there, it just doesn't give me the same environment that Ranked Teams did, as a whole organized team. Stats, a match history as a team, etc.
