"How many games do I need to finish the Mecha Kingdom pass quests?" A Short Guide

With 3 weeks left in the Mecha Kingdoms event, and this being the most quests needed to reach 2 gemstones, some of you may be wondering exactly how many games you'll need to play on average to get through the 20 milestones each of 20 points. Well I've crunched the numbers so you don't have to.

With 400 points needed total, 5 for a win, 2 for a loss, (an average of 3.5 per game) you may think it's simply 400/3.5 = 114 games, but in fact because it is split into chunks of 20, you will often find yourself at 19 points only to win a game and have essentially 4 of your potential points be wasted. Below is the probability, given a 50% winrate, of every combination of win and loss needed to get to 20 points.

  • 4W 0L / 20 / 6.3%
  • 4W 1L / 22 / 12.5%
  • 4W 2L / 24 / 15.6%
  • 3W 3L / 21 / 31.3%
  • 3W 4L / 23 / 11.7%
  • 2W 5L / 20 / 16.4%
  • 2W 6L / 22 / 2.7%
  • 2W 7L / 24 / 1.6%
  • 1W 8L / 21 / 1.8%
  • 1W 9L / 23 / 0.1%
  • 0W 10L / 20 / 0.1%

This gives us an average of 21.7 points, or 6.2 games, to finish each milestone, not 20. This means to finish all 20 milestones, you'll need to play on average 124 games of league before the end of the event.

WIth 25 days left in the event, if you bought the pass today would need to play about 5 games a day, every day. So if you're thinking of buying that pass, well stop reading this and get playing!

the short answer is a lot the long answer is this is actually stupid riot said " we don't want to make players feel like they have to play a ton of games" riot said " we want to make missions feel more unique" riot does " makes a 20 milestone event of pure mindless grind why did i buy this pass for the 2 gemstones? what a damn waste

It took me an entire week to complete all of the event pass missions, I managed to do It in a week because I had a week of free time and I mostly played ARAM / URF. If I didn't had that free time It would have take me probably 2 or 3 weeks. The missions in my opinion where too stretched out, like instead of getting 5 prestige points per mission why not just give the 25 at once? I personally didn't care for the event pass missions, the only reason I got the pass is so I can get the Prestige skin for Senna. Still the event pass missions where too grindy in my opinion even with my free time, since at time I was starting to get bored of playing only ARAM and URF.
