How does the mmr system work??

coconutpie123 - Summoner search results - League of Legends

I was bronze 5 in season 6. Then I did 8wins 2 loss in season 7 placement. Now I'm currently 14 wins 4 loss.

But, still my mmr is lower than average, and riot gives me low lp (about 18 lp) my winrate is higher than 70 percent.

Can you guys tell me why is this happening?

I don't know, but it could awhile before the MMR readjusts itself

maybe the soft reset affected it
