A month after the meeting of Demacia and Noxus, a combined force of Demacian, Noxian and Freljordan elite stood at the pass in the mountains. All armies ready and eager to see action from the new threat, all with different reasons for their presence. Demacia, a kingdom built on the prospect of justice, could not stand by and let the innocent be slaughtered by the creatures that lurk in the darkness. Noxus, with ideals of power would prove themselves the strongest in the land by wiping out the threat that saw to the end of one of their oldest rivals. Freljord, a nation split in three were there for similar reasons themselves. The Avarosan, they would assist their allies in their time of strife with all their might. The Winter's Claw, see's that power can be gained by having the strength to defeat a powerful new threat. The Frostguard, see's the danger of this threat if it were to reach their home, so to end this threat, they must join forces to create the largest army that has been seen on the continent. The Steel Legion.

Those who could be light on their feet were to join the secondary faction, the Woad Forces, and a member of each city state was to have someone co-lead this faction. Naturally Quinn was the choice for Demacia, her skills in scouting were next to none among the forces of demacia. Joining her was Fiora, an excellent duellist able to take out large groups of enemies in seconds; Vayne, a vigilante with powerful skill and prowess; and finally Lucian, a man hell bent to purging evil spirits from the world, and to save his wife who was taken from him, he too sees the threat before him. The forces of Noxus must be lead by the might and ruthlessness of Darius, he will destroy any enemy too strong for the demacian weaklings to handle; Talon, a fearless assassin who will be swift to strike down any enemy to move against the forces of Noxus; LeBlanc, a cunning deceiver who will not be outdone in terms of strength; finally Cassiopeia, cursed by the venom of a tomb guardian, she has been changed into a powerful cross between a venomous snake, and a beautiful woman, a deadly combination. Freljord was to be commanded by Ashe, an excellent scout powered by the magical bow of Avarosa, she is assisted by Nunu and his yeti; Sejuani will not be outdone by her sister, so she also joined the faction to prove her worth and to take the fight directly to the enemy, joining her is Udyr. Lissandra stayed with the Steel Legion with Trundle, if her sisters were to die she would gladly take her rightful place on the throne.

The night was quiet, empty, and hot. The only sounds were the footsteps made by the forces travelling through the desert, unprepared for the heat, anxious to reach their destination. Valor could be seen above, hoping to catch a non-existent breeze, hoping to see shelter in the expansive sands. There were not a lot of options, not enough for the group to rest. The walking continued for days, the moral of the group was low, cooperation between then was unlikely when they left, but it is feared that infighting may begin. 'Walk to the city' was on the minds when they left, now all they can think of is how to kill the one next to them. By morning they had found it, the city in the sands, Shurima, their halfway point on their journey, and where they would be meeting the last additions to their troop. Entrance to the city was guarded, not by men, but by sand, men made of sand, standing guard to the once fallen city, now glorious in its stature. They would not be let in, instead, Sivir came out, alone. "Azir will not allow trespassers into the city, not yet anyway, not till he is finished building. i will accompany you to Bandle city though." Darius was less than pleased with this lack of hospitality from those he was ordered to help, but he was not foolish enough to provoke an attack from a God who can raise an army with a thought. Cassiopeia was skeptical about only receiving one person for reinforcement "Just you joining us? Where's Nasus? And Renekton? You know, the Ascended ones?" "I'd advise that you hold your tongue Cass, i do recall the last time we met where you tried to kill me." "And as you can see i paid for my error, what more do you want?" Lucian was not going to let this be a spark of infighting between this already fragile group. "Enough! If we are to work together, we must put our past grievances behind us until we can get the job done. We have been given one task and one task alone, we will take what we can get and move on to complete the mission." This ended any quarrels between the parties in the group, at least for now. The team journeyed through the rest of the desert and through the Voodoo lands without incident, without even seeing a single void creature along their path. They were anxious, the Voodoo Lands was in the territory claimed by the Void, yet there were none there. the land looked barren, consumed, it was hardly a surprise not to see anything there, there was nothing left to eat. The next area the creatures were likely to hit was Shurima or Bandle City, with that realisation the team doubled their efforts to reach their destination. Bandle City isn't the easiest place to get to, it is enclosed by mountains, giving it a natural wall. There were only 2 ways to get into the city, through a path in the mountain, or by sea. The team pushed through the mountain path to reach the city within. What they found wasn't a city though, what they found was despair. There wasn't much left of the city, a few building on the outskirts, ruins of what there used to be. It looked as if the city had fallen into a sinkhole, devoured by the earth. There were still creatures gorging on anything they could find, still a few yordles running from the threat. Quinn decided to take charge, "There are still civilians in the area, it's our job to escort them beyond the Great Barrier." Before she could finish talking Sejuani already charged in to fight the void creatures. Her boar charged horn first into the largest of the creatures, piercing its abdomen. The creature wailed a call for help and a cry of pain as Sejuani beat it with her mace, she was eagerly looking for the next challenger. From within the crater a swarm of Voidlings rushed out in all different directions, with a vast majority moving towards Sejuani. She was clearly in trouble, Udyr rushed to her with the speed of a bear, and then changed his stance to represent a phoenix. Waves of fire rushed out from his attacks, scorching the voidlings around Sejuani. The rest of the group saw this as an opportunity to either join the fight, or save the Yordles. The rush of voidlings seemed endless, a steady flow of them emerging from the crater. They were weak, Darius was able to dispatch groups of ten of them in a single swing of his axe, but doing so over the hours that they fought made him tired. The flow of the creatures continued, their efforts felt to be in vain. They only managed to save 70 or so yordles in the process, barely a percentage of the original population. Vayne asked the survivors what happened to the town. "They came at night, soldiers led by Captain Teemo were guarding the mountain, and the sea was guarded by soldiers led by Tristana. But the enemy did not come from either direction. It felt like the earth was shaking beneath us, suddenly entire buildings would collapse and fall into holes. From out the holes came the monsters, the numbers were small at first, maybe 4 or 5 at a time, but as more of the city collapsed, more holes opened up, and more of the creatures appeared. They were as large as us, with three eyes on their heads. Their limbs were sharpened, and shaped similar to a pickaxe. The alarm was sounded and the troops from the coast pulled back to the city, but there was no response from the mountains. I don't know what happened to them. we tried to run out the city, but where was there to run? We were trapped behind the mountains, all we could do was wait to die. There was one creature that caught my eye, large than the others, larger than you giants. It looked similar to the smaller ones, but it had four additional legs stretching out from its back, it looked like it was coordinating the smaller creatures. Tristana tried to take it down, but it blocked her attacks by using the legs like a shield. She died in the fight. Lulu and Poppy both tried to take it down as a team, but the smaller voidlings were too coordinated for them to get close enough to even attack it, they too fell." It was obvious what had to be done, they had to find this larger creature, this queen and kill it. Quin and Valor were the first to find it, hidden inside the pit surrounded by its children. Darius, Sejuani and Talon rushed in to clear away the minions, Lucian unleashed a barrage of light, purging anything that tried stop them. The queen was vulnerable, Vayne tumbled into her final hour and tried to unleash a flurry of bolts onto the queen, blocked by her powerful shield. Udyr rushed in and grabbed one of the legs shielding her, calling out to Darius. Darius jumped up into the air and swung his axe down on the leg, amputating it. The Queen cried out in agony, the voidlings attacks grew more fierce, concentrating on protecting their queen. Udyr Grabbed another leg for the process to be repeated, but the Queen was not to be trifled with. She lifted her other two legs, about to slam them down on Udyr, but couldn't. Sejuani flung a frost-forged bola into her, freezing the two legs in place above the queen, and allowing Darius to amputate the second leg. This was the opportunity Ashe was waiting for, the Queen's defences were down and her weak points were exposed. Ashe charged a giant crystal arrow and unleashed onto the Queen, piercing its head. With the death of the Queen, the voidlings became docile, finishing them took the team barely any time and effort. The fight was over, the battle was won, but Bandle City was destroyed, the last of the yordle's culture, rested with a mere 70 survivors.

Azir looked out to the distance, past his city and towards the mountain. He was aware of the arrival of the army of Void creatures, but he was not mentally prepared for the vast number of them. Their numbers stretches back hundreds and hundreds of metres, there had to be tens of thousands of them marching onto his empire in the sands. No, he will not let his empire fall again, he refuses to stand down against this threat. Nasus stood by him, ready to assist in the fight. It took much of his might, but he raised thousands of sand soldiers, a number that rivalled his armies in his old empire. They stood guard at city perimeter, Azir at their helm and Nasus beside him, ready for the clash. At dawn the fighting began, although clearly outnumbered, the sand soldiers were more powerful and were smarter than the concoction of creatures they were fighting. Barrages of bio-arcane material attacked them, but their shields were strong, and their spears were sharp. Nasus was able to strike down many enemies at a time, and as the battle continued, he grew stronger. A pack of alphas tried to bring down Nasus, and perhaps they would have if not for the intervention of Renekton, swiftly cutting his way through the battlefield and mercilessly cutting down all that stood in his way. By evening the battle was over, despite being stronger, the Ascended beings could not stand to the overwhelming numbers of the void. Cho'gath strolled up to Azir, weakened by the conflict. Cho'gath feasted on his body, he felt the power of an ascended being rushing into his stomach. Cho'gath's size almost doubled. The empire began to crumble into the sand, soon there would be nothing left. The next destination for Cho'gath's army, Mogron's Pass.

"Xerath, you understand the necessity for power, and though powerful you maybe, i see the potential that you have to rise greater than a mere ascended being. Come with me, i can show you a power that will make cities crumble in your presence. A power to become more than a god, this is clearly the next step for you. Come join, the glorious evolution!"
