**Viktor's notes on captured Nami and Elise ** "The subject appears, uncooperative. I would like to learn how she controls the water she uses, though perhaps this may be ineffective. Evolving her may take some time, i shall replace her water with sound waves and add her as a medic role in my army. As for the other subject, as i could not capture Kha'zix, my options with transformations are limited. I shall study how she changes into an arachnid before her evolution, this transformation trait will be key for my prime unit."
**Thoughts of a soldier in the Steel Legion ** The night is dark, starless, hidden from the eye by the aurora. The moon hung in the sky, the colour seemed tainted by blood that has been spilled by the creatures already. The card shark Twisted Fate says that the void will be arriving soon, though it is hard to see them in the darkness, I perhaps wouldn't be able to see at all if not for his power. The other members of the Legion seem to be as fearful as I when thinking about the upcoming fight. Our CO said, "Those of you who wish to fight, step forward and join me at the front." There weren't many who did wish to fight, most of us wanted to go home and spend what little time we had left with our loved ones. A few had deserted, they were killed by a man just as intimidating as the monsters we were here to fight, in fact this army is full of monsters. A half dragon, a woman fused with ice, a man who can turn into a bird demon, even a giant slime monster has been armoured up to fight with us. Jarvan understood our fear, he told us "It's okay to be afraid, fear makes you strong and fast. in a few hours you will face creatures that know no fear for they believe they are fear. That makes us stronger than they are. You all have someone at home, if you wish to be with them go, if you wish that they know this fear go, if you wish for them to die to the creatures of the night then be my guest and leave. But i am staying here because i will not stand by and let these creatures do as they please in our nation." After that people stopped leaving, I even felt a little inspired, not enough to head to the front though, i'll leave that spot for the heroes among us. The people who do not fear death, for when they are ready, they are death. 2 hours before the battle, Void side Hmmm, the humans are gathered in the Pass, it would be difficult to get through them with the number we have left from destroying Shurima. We will need to use a bit of cunning to kill them. Our tunneler unit were killed at Bandle City, so my plan to dig through the mountain is lacking. That leaves only two options for the attack, go through the pass, or go over the mountain. The best course will be for me to do both, this is the only path to the northern part of the continent, the only way to get the lush land on the other side. I cannot lose this battle, and i am willing to risk everything. 1 hour before the battle, campfire talk with Braum, Twisted Fate, Mundo and Katarina "Why not just break stair? I once punched through a mountain, I could do it simple with my shield." "The yordles need the access through the mountains so that their scientists can go to Piltover. The armour you're wearing, the shield upgrade, it was designed by them." "MUNDO DOES NOT CARE WHETHER STAIR IS THERE OR NOT, MUNDO GOES WHERE HE PLEASES." "Yes well for those of us not hyped up on steroids we need the stairs, for example the Woad Forces that we sent to rescue Bandle City." MUNDO IS WANTED IN MEDICAL TENT ANYWAY, NOWHERE NEAR BATTLE, BUT IF MUNDO BORED, MUNDO FIGHT CREATURES THAT THINK PURPLE SUITS THEM BETTER THAN MUNDO." 10 minutes before the clash, front lines It was cold, a chilling wind blew through the formation of the troops, none dared to shudder, to make a noise of any kind, they were too focused on the noises made by the oncoming army. As far as they could see down there were void creatures. and to the sides of them, the creatures were scaling the cliff, at least those with the strength the climb. There were a few fast paced creatures who could get up the stairs before the rest, they were picked off by the marksmen of the legion, the frontline did not have the time to worry about a few scouts, they had to worry about the ocean behind them. The attack began when the creatures got within the last dozen of steps. Strong and arrogant heroes charged forward, taking out as many as they could manage with a single blow, others decided to wait behind and pick them off from a distance. Lissandra and Twisted Fate were preoccupied with annihilating the wall climbers. Katarina shunpo'd in close, unleashing an onslaught of daggers to few around her. Braum let off his Glacial fissure down towards the main body of enemies, piercing and knocking away groups at a time, hoping to knock them off the heights. Anyone who had something the launch at the enemy did, the others waited, bracing themselves for the impact. The creatures would not sit back and take the damage, they returned it in full. Those who could acted as long range artillery; either firing void crystals, lasers or ooze at the legion. Those behind Braum felt no effect, and though he may be powerful, he could not protect everyone. Lux was hit by a crystal, and was bleeding heavily, Garen urged someone to take her to be healed, and so she left the battle before making much of an impact. The battle was long, those who were tankier in nature held the enemy in the front, and those who were smaller attacked the enemies behind them. Shyvana flew above the battlefield, unleashing waves of fire, incinerating all in the path, the void creature began to focus their fire, and after a while, the half-dragon fell. Trundle and his troll army proved powerful foes for the void creatures, able to slow their advance if even by a little, they were ambushed by enemies climbing up the side, but Trundle would not fall, for every enemy he killed the more blood pumped through his veins, it took a pack of Alpha creatures to drag him off the stairs and throw him down the heights. The battle continued like this for hours, powerful heroes overcome by endless numbers. 3 hours into after the clash The battle has turned into the voids favour, there were too few heroes to defend the legion, and too many pawns for Cho'Gath to throw at them. The retreat had begun, and perhaps would have continued if not the arrival of a few unexpected being. A machine, one that had the shape and likeness of the monsters they thought leaped into the battle and killed off many of the more powerful creature that were controlling the weaker one. A large flying machine swooped into the battlefield and landed hard in the middle on the enemy, it transformed to look like Aatrox, and began sweeping away the enemy, any damage it received was regenerated in his attacks. Through the mountain appeared a digging machine, creating a path for the soldiers to escape from. Once all the soldier had evacuated from the stairs, the digging machine transformed into a being similar to Malphite. Mecha Aatrox and Kha'zix fled from the stairs, and Mecha Malphite destroyed it. The entire staircase crumbled from the shockwaves created by Mecha Malphite, the void creatures that were on the stairs all died in the fall, or were crushed by debris. Cho'gath's vast army was reduced to a thousand in one attack. Without any other options, Cho'Gath retreated. Victory resonated with the Steel Legion. After the end of the battle, conversation between Jarvan IV and Heimerdinger "Why did you break the stairs? We lost hundreds of men trying to defend it!" "As has been made obvious, that method was ineffectual. Simply breaking the stairs has halted the enemies advance and has wiped out the majority of their forces." "But we need the access to the lower half of the continent. We have forces on the other side, how are we supposed to save them?" "You saw the capabilities of my 06 unit first hand, a tunnel can be created to rescue those left on the otherside." "And what if the enemy decides to use the tunnel as well?" "We collapse it with them inside."
Message from Viktor to Cho'Gath "I see you have lost the battle, as i had predicted. It must be difficult, having such a gluttonous hunger and not being able to satisfy it. I can't imagine you are happy with your current state of affairs, beaten by machines stronger than you are. I can help you rise above your restrictions.
