[Fan Fiction] Dawn of the Glorious Evolution (part 4)
It's been nearly a month since the enemy destroyed the city of Demacia. The Steel Legion are preparing to attack back with full force, but resources are slim. Public order has been shaky since the implementation of the militia, and sending large forces of the Legion out of the city may be seen as an opportunity for revolutionaries to perform a coup d'etat. The council of the Trinity has decided on sending a scouting force to gain an estimate of the enemy numbers, as usual, this job falls to the Woad forces, consisting of Darius, Sejuani, Udyr, Quinn, Lucian, Sivir and Talon. Ashe and LeBlanc have seats on the council and cannot join them, Fiora and Vayne are on a separate mission investigating revolutionary actions in Noxus. Cassiopeia and Nunu both died in the battle at Bandle City. Mission Briefing To Infiltrate the enemy stronghold, one must volunteer themselves to Viktor, and they will be transported inside, although once inside, there has been no indication of anyone making it back outside, so a team must be on standby to assist breaking out the team inside. The team entering the Stronghold shall consist of Lucian, Sivir and Talon. You will find one of the scavenger machines and tell them you wish to volunteer to join the revolution. Darius, Sejuani, Udyr and Quin, it will be your job to figure out a way to get them out when the jobs done. Lucian, you will be in charge of Team A, Darius, you are in charge of Team B. Team A has twelve hours to get information on the enemy, after the time limit, Team B will Bust you out. Valor shall be used to guide Team A to the exit created by Team B. Do not fail us, this information is vital to the Legion.
"I dont like this, giving ourselves to the enemy. We have no idea what's inside that thing, or whats going to happen to us." Sivir was worried, sweat began to drip from her brow as she and the team approached one of the machines. It was massive in size, floating above the ground, scanning the rubble. It's one large eye emitting a beam, looking for something inside the rubble. It reached out one of its three tentacles to clear away the debris, picking up a book. "A short history of Time, By Zilean" He seemed very pleased with his find, and began scanning each page, unaware of the trio approaching it. The three were surprised, a machine that spent time reading, even if it only took a second per page. There was so much they didn't know about the Battlecast; the only experience they had with machines was when Mecha Inc.'s Malphite created a path for them through the mountain, and he didn't seem too interested in the pursuit of knowledge, only interested in the task it was created for. Lucian began to speak, loudly to try and get the machines attention. "Excuse me Scholar, we would like to join the revolution. We are a warrior trio from Piltover, saddened by the corruption in the city, hoping to be a part of a better cause." The machine did not look up from its book, nor did it reply. It was uninterested in what Lucian had to say, and this annoyed Lucian to some extent. "Excuse me!?" The machine still did not turn, but began to speak a sort of, uninterested tone. "I heard you the first time, you are normal humans, no real powers that i can see, we do not have much interest in people like you, now leave me alone whilst i read this." Talon began to get angry, he raised his blade and began to move towards the machine, stopped in his tracks by Lucian. Calmly, Lucian said, "What we lack in powers we make up for in relics and techniques. Also my lady friend here can create a shield that can absorb any attack, replenishing her stamina." This got the machine's attention, it closed the book and began to scan Sivir. "Indeed she may have something special, why don't you demonstrate your power to me, i will fire a rocket at you and i want you to absorb it." Talon and Lucian stepped back behind Sivir, confident in her abilities she gestured the machine to fire at her. The machine fired two rockets helixing around each other towards Sivir. She began to emit a blue aura around herself, and the rockets passed into her. "Interesting, you are unharmed, yes i can definitely see a use for your power in our army. very well, i shall take you and your friends aboard." Sivir was very pleased with herself, she felt full of energy, she did not understand the power herself, after she met her ancestor she assumed it was a part of her lineage. After a short amount of time, a new machine appeared from within the fortress, floating down towards the duo to transport them inside. This was it, the first step of their mission was complete, and the group felt pride in their achievement, but also fear, for they had no idea what was to come for them next.
Sivir woke up with her arms strapped in a chair, she was drowsy, with a sharp pain in the back of her head, tube sticking out of her arm taking her blood, and a tube sticking into her other arm, letting in some black liquid into her bloodstream, she felt numb. She did not remember how she got there, the last thing she did remember was entering the fortress, the rest was a blur. She looked around, other humans laid asleep in pods as if they were frozen inside. Blood Vessels could be seen, blackened, as if some disease had taken a hold of them. Next to her were her team mates, unconscious and strapped in to similar chairs with just the blackened tube inserted into them. A machine began to float down towards her, it was small, with a lot of what looked like surgical equipment attached to it. "Good you're awake. I have been trying to isolate the gene that gave you your shield power, so i am going to need you to use it, and i would be careful if i was you, i took a section of your skull off as well, to take a peek at that brain of yours. Try not to do anything that would damage it." Sivir didn't really understand what the little robot was trying to say to her, just that she needed to use her power. The machine prepared a small rocket and fired it at sivir, she absorbed it. "Very good, i can see which section of your brain fired up there." Sivir's numbness went away, she felt full of energy. She could break out, but she had to be careful. The machine began to get close to her, when it was in range she kicked it hard into the ceiling, sending it crashing down at her feet. She used the back of her heel to try and kick out its optics, blinding it. She used her feet to grab on of the scalpels on the machine and lift it up to her mouth. Its blade was sharp and covered in dried blood. She used it to cut open the strap on her right arm, once her hand was free she loosened the bond on her left arm. She began work to free her comrades, She managed to wake up Lucian, but Talon would not wake up. His blood vessel s were a dark shade of black, and hard, she listened in to his chest. His heart had stopped, she looked in the pods, he looked just like the people in there, perhaps they were the ones who couldn't handle the process. Sivir felt mortified by what she was seeing, and extremely saddened by the death of Talon. Lucian was still drowsy, but he grabbed her shoulder and said "I need my guns, where are they?" Sivir did not know, she looked around the room and found them in one of the draws. She handed the larger pistol the lucian and carried the other. The two of them began moving out of the room, using each other for support. The halls were dark and cold, not meant to be habitable by living being. There were no windows, no air vents, just tubes , walls and the floor. Lucian used his pistol to produce a light so they could see, it wasn't much but it was enough to traverse the building. They did not know where they were, they just kept moving forward, hoping to find a way out of where they were, there was no way they could complete this mission. After a few hours Lucian felt strong enough to walk by himself, so Sivir handed him his other pistol. There were sounds around them, metal scratching against metal, gas being exhausted, the drip of some kind of fluid. Then they saw them, the worker drones, they were shaped like people but, they were unrecognizable as to who they were before. Weak looking, smelled of decay, their eyelids were nowhere to be seen, how long were they working for? One of the workers spotted her, let out a loud welp alerting the others. Slowly they began to move towards the duo, slowly they began to increase their speed. Sivir was defenceless, without her boomerang she didn't know how to fight. Lucian took the lead, "Run, I will cover you and catch up later. GO." Sivir wanted to argue, but she knew that she would be no use to him, so she turned and ran away into the darkness, leaving behind her leader. Sivir eventually found a large room with what looked like a window, massive in size. What could live in this room that would need this much space. Her question was answered when she turned around, hearing the sound of heavy metal steps moving towards her. A huge metal beast moving towards her, looking down at her. "Who are you, what are you doing in the chambers of the Prime?" She was scared beyond belief, was this the day she was to die? "I am Sivir of the Shurima Desert." The beast looked startled, the word Shurima resonated something within him, he began to hold his head, as if in great pain. Then without hesitation, he devoured Sivir.
Cho'gath felt sick, the voice was screaming at him, his insides began to churn, causing him great suffering. Cho'gath began to gag, and vomited Sivir onto the floor, and then vomited another being, a bird made of metal. "I am free at last, by the blood of my descendent i have been revived once again. Although, the cost of my resurrection, the life of Sivir" Cho'gath collapsed on the ground as if unconscious. Azir moved towards Cho'gath, and placed his hand on the beasts head. Sympathetically he said, "I hate you for what you did to my city, unleashing your void army upon me, eating me. After staying inside you i could understand your gluttony, it was all you knew, the hunger. It made you insane, and you had thousands to feed. And now you've become this, thing, a slave to a man you turned to in desperation. I pity you creature, and although you have killed my last descendent, i will still save you, and everyone else aboard Acropolis, even Xerath." Azir turned to his fallen relative. "When this is over, i shall bury you among our kin in Shurima, I shall create a tomb of heroes just for you. I am sorry it turned out this way, but when I am through with Viktor, our people shall rise again." Azir began to make his way to Viktor's throne room, but made a detour to the generator room to talk to Xerath. He stood in front of him, looking into his eyes, but Xerath did not look at him. It looked like Xerath was looking through him, as if he hadn't acknowledged that Azir was standing before him. Azir looked over his magi, chained up and connected to pylons, having his energies sucked out of him. Azir hated Xerath, but seeing him like this, he could only feel great sorrow. He left the room and continued on to the throne room. He found Viktor, sitting on his throne, as if waiting for Azir to arrive. "You are not who I was expecting, I was told that some test subject had escaped, so I assumed they came to kill me. I thought you were dead." Viktor said bemusingly. "You will find it very difficult to kill an ascended being, we are immortal." Azir spoke with an undertone of anger, mixed with a small sense of pride. "I do not wish to kill you, I will add you to my armies, I can see you have already begun the evolution process. But I will have great pleasure in finishing it myself." Viktor stood up and began to move toward Azir. "You shall not touch me! I will kill you and release all those that you hold captive here! I shall show the world the power and benevolence of Shurima!" Azir charged at Viktor, raising a soldier of metal to charge with him. Viktor threw down a gravity field beneath his opponent, and attacked Azir with his Siphon Power, he then struck him with a power charged laser, Azir was forced onto the ground by the strength of the field. "HOW DARE YOU, DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO LEAD THIS WORLD TO ITS FUTURE. ARE YOU WILLING TO TAKE CHARGE AND HALT EVERYONES NATURAL EVOLUTION PROCESS FOR A FORM GENERATIONS AHEAD OF ITS TIME? ARE YOU? I SAY,* NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO*, NOT AT ALL" With each break in Viktors speech, he attacked Azir with a powerful laser. "THE PEOPLE COME TO ME SEEKING RETRIBUTION IN A WORLD THAT HAS CAST THEM ASIDE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT FIT ENOUGH TO SURVIVE, AND I GRANT THEM SALVATION, I GIVE THEM STRENGTH. HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SAY THEY HAVE DONE THAT?" Viktor grabbed Azir's head with his metal arm and lifted him to standing height. "You can live in my new world, or you can die in your old one"
Team B was waiting close to Acropolis, twelve hours had ended, it was time to rescue Team A. Valor had been scouting the fortress, looking for a gap in its defenses, there were none that the team could get into. Suddenly the main door opened on the citadel, and Azir walked out of it, eyes changed from its previous blue to a deep shade of red, carrying Viktor's old staff with his Battlecore installed. Viktor had taken direct control of Azir, and was moving towards Team B. Darius and Sejuani charged at Azir, hoping to attack the first strike, but when they got close a wall of robotic shield men pushed them back. Udyr followed in, but he could not get past the wall. Two more soldiers were summoned, this time spear men, and they ran through Udyr, if he had not switched to Turtle stance, he may have died. Azir began summoning more and more soldiers, surrounding Team B. "I like this, so much power, the ability to raise an army on the battlefield. Yes, he will be a key soldier, my Alpha. Now, about you spies. I would like to send a message to your masters. Send all you have to face me, I will be here, my armies number in the thousands." The soldiers began piercing Udyr and Sejuani. Darius looked angrily at Azir, shouting out, "WHY?" Azir turned his back and said, "It does not take three people to deliver a message."
