PROJECT vs BATTLECAST (Fanfic request) [Part 1]
Yi...this is my name...at least that's what I remember. I was saved by a woman named "Fiora" who has suffered the same fate as I. For her however it was a choice, I do not remember if this was my choice or not. I doubt I would willingly choose a life of pain like this...if I did it was by lack of knowledge. The pain never ends, I have become used to it now but its still there. My memories often drag me away from the pain and sorrow and bring me back to a life I once knew. A temple...a safe haven...a hope for all who saw it...this was my home. ...I remember...a girl...young and fair...her name was...Ahri...and a boy...brash but strong...his name...was-
"Hey, Yi, get up." His voice was broken by the metallic voice-box and his anger seeped from his voice
Yi snapped back to reality, it was Lucian that stood over him. "Is there something wrong Lucian?" Yi asked, his voice soft and hurt, the pain of being ripped from his safe memories, fake or real, they gave him comfort.
Lucian offered his hand "I'm sorry but we don't have time for you to get lost in thought, we need to move, Zed and his troops will be on us, Yasuo just returned with Fiora and reported in."
Yi took Lucian's hand as he pulled to get up "Where is Yasuo?"
"Already on the move, Fiora and Leona have also taken the lead, they know you take awhile to get going once you have been jostled awake."
Yi took this to thought and took a firm hold of his Blade "Then let us be off then Lucian."
Lucian nodded and took the lead with Yi in toe. Yi and Lucian took no time to get to the others, they had not walked far. The team had managed to Finally make it out of the city and onto what was left of what they suspected to be an old city known as "Demacia". Lucian broke through the com's and radioed to Fiora. "Fiora, we are not far from your position, I finally got Yi up, guy sleeps like a rock."
"You know he we don't sleep Lucian..." Fiora stated almost as if Lucian's comment offended her.
"Then explain why I can be talking to Yi and he doesn't respond, I know he can hear me."
"Lucian..."
"I'm just saying Fiora-"
"I am right behind you Lucian" Yi interrupted.
"Yeah yeah, I know" Lucian could be rather harsh, but today he was much more brisk in tone.
Fiora turned and waved her free hand to the two of them in greeting. As Yi and Lucian got within speaking distance, Yasuo suddenly stopped dead in his tracks, his head shot up and his gaze began to dart from left to right. Leona stood behind Yasuo and took hold of his shoulder "What is it Ya-" Before she could finish Yasuo drew his blade and turned to the others "EVERYBODY DOWN, NOW!!"
Without warning a light shown in the sky, Yi looked up at it in confusion, what was it, a Star? No...it wasn't a Star...it was an artillery round. Before most of them could react the Shell hit the ground and a huge explosion engulfed the five PROJECT's lifting a cloud of dest.
Suddenly Yasuo and Yi flew back out of the smoke, Yasuo landed gently to the ground, the Cybernetic air control of his armor allowing a soft landing. Yi however landed hard, but his metal legs took most of the impact and he used his left hand to slow himself from going to far back. The rest of the PROJECTs managed to get out without much damage, Fiora and Lucian had ducked behind Leona who had her shield at the ready.
"What in the hell?" Lucian mumbled as he drew his Pistols.
Fiora could smell it in the air...Smog...Gas...Fire...she knew this smell, she had smelt it before.
Yasuo and Yi tried to find the location of the direction of where the shell was fired. Yi then looked out at the horizon and his optic sensors zoomed in on a small black and red figure on a hill, it then shot something again which flew into the sky, and then started going, right for him.
"Yi, MOVE!"
Yi suddenly dashed out of the way as a split second later the shell bulls-eyed the very location he was standing. "Quite accurate for a simple Mortar Tank don't you think?"
"Its not a mortar... its a robot"
"a Robot, like us?"
Yasuo's face glared out at the the spot where the shell came from "not even close"
He walked out and looked upon the dust covered world, it left a bad taste in his mouth, such wasted space that could be used for factories, power plants, but no, this land was left with nothing but sand. Well, at least it wasn't covered with grass, trees and filth like that.
"Report, what is the status of our advance?"
A Strange three tentacled Mechanical Three-eyed Robot floated next to his master.
"It seems that we have some Subjects that Kog'Maw has taken aim for, it seems he finds them a threat"
"Absurd, What force can stand in the face of Perfection such as mine?" He then looked out at the sand covered field looking for these "Targets". Suddeny he spotted five dots upon the sand. "Well then, it seems there IS someone down there hmhmhmhm how amusing, Kog'Maw-"
The Robotic beast gurgled and growled at its master in response.
"Remove these worthless insects from my sight...Immediately..."
Yasuo and Yi managed to find cover from the sudden rain of Mortar shells from the hill far off. Leona, Fiora and Lucian still where trying to make there way to them. Yi could still spot the target firing at them, but now he could see more foes upon the hill.
"The one firing on us is at the top of the hill, it is only a matter of time before they come closer."
"At this range we have no means of fighting them, we would be scrap metal before we even got to the bottom of the hill." Yasuo tried to think of a way out of the situation.
Yi knew that all too well, but odds where they would die staying here as well...Yi had only one option, he had to take the fight to them. Suddenly, Yi withdrew from cover and ran past Leona, Fiora and Lucian who had finally managed to get to cover.
"Yi!" Leona shouted.
"Vhat are you doing?" Fiora questioned.
"Get your ass back here!" Lucian ordered out in vain.
Yi kept running, the mortar tank now concentrating its fire on him alone, perfect, just what he wanted.
"YI, Get back here!" Yasuo barked over the radio, "Are you crazy, You will never reach-"
Before Yasuo could finish, Yi's body started to glow, his armor becoming a hard light substance and his blade split into Four, Yi had awakened. Yi's speed increased even more then normal, his body was moving faster then the eye could follow, and suddenly the mortar tank was firing at random, using estimated locations hoping to hit Yi, only to fail in every shot.
Yi's plan was going as planned, now at the bottom of the hill he started his lap up the hill.
Kog'Maw couldn't keep up, his simple tracking program couldn't keep up with such speed, even Vel'Koz's eye couldn't keep up with the Target.
"Master Victor, a Target is scaling are advantage point with extreme speed faster then Kog'Maw or my Eyes can follow, it seems his speed limiters have been removed, permission to...Analyse..."
Victor simply waved his hand to him. "Permission Granted, leave only what is of value for research."
"T H A N K==Y O U==S I R" Vel'Koz then turned and focused his optics to find the target, after a few seconds he managed to lock on target. Suddenly he charged his internal energy core and focused his beam weapons into his center optics, and fired a HUGE beam at the target lock.
Yi saw a huge red beam of light blast at him, it struck him with full force. His armor slowly started to burn away as he stood in the beam. He had to think fast.
Vel'koz finally disengaged his optic laser and examined his work...but what he found was not what he was expecting. "M-Master"
"What is it, Haven't you taken care of that filth yet?"
"So it is You who is the one responsible for attacking us."
Victor stood still, then slowly turned to meet this guest. Standing before him was a Cybernetic Humanoid Figure, glowing bright orange and gold, but by the look of it the light was starting to fade. The Figure held a Sword and had a long trail of hair flowing from his helmet.
"Extraordinary..." Victor wasn't ready for what he saw, it was everything he wanted in his perfect evolution, however upon closer inspection he could see some flaws in the design.
"Ahhh I see so your not completely reached perfection, but you have reached a form of it, I applaud you." Victor clapped his hands and laughed "A few more upgrades and you would be worthy of being called a perfect 'imitation' of perfection."
"After seeing YOUR opinion of 'Perfection' I would rather die in shame then be apart of your 'evolution'." Yi readied his blade and took a strong fighting stance, however Yi noticed this foe was not alone. There was a Talking Tank, A floating energy storm A Scorpion like tank, the mortar tank and the one who fired the red beam at him, and a Crab like Tank already taking aim at him.
"Such a bold claim from someone outnumbered by many, but what can I expect from a barbaric being such as you who is too scared of going all the way with his evolution?"
Yi knew this fiend had a point, despite his speed he couldn't fight them all.
"Urgot, Fire!"
"Yes Master!" the crab like Tank suddenly fired a canister at Yi, too fast to block or duck out of the way of.
"Soy-OH!" Suddenly a wall of hard-light blocked the canister and sent it flying away Yi turned to see Yasuo had swung his sword at the perfect time, blocking the attack. The mortar tank and Floating Eye robot suddenly came under a rain of plasma fire, forcing both to duck back and drift out of position. Lucian and Leona came charging up the hill, Lucian with his Rapid fire pistols firing with what looked like reckless abandon, but was really focused and precise.
Kog'Maw turned to Lucian and fire a rocket straight at Lucian, But Leona Jumped in front of Lucian and blocked the attack.
The tank Suddenly stomped the ground shooting it at Yasuo, but as it reached a Purple blade suddenly sent all of the impact back to the walking tank knocking it off its feet.
"Nice job Fiora." Yasuo complimented setting his sword back in its containment sheath.
"Naturally." Fiora then flourished her sword and readied it for anything that might come back, and let her visor start scanning for any weaknesses.
Victor was slightly impressed, these fools somehow managed to sneak up on his perfect creations. He WOULD be worried, but such an emotion was beneath him, it was a human emotion he had LONG outgrown. "Impressive, but that is all it is, in the end your nothing but Humans with robotic implants...what would make you strong you hinder with your own human weaknesses."
Yi brandished his sword and pointed it at Victor, its orange glow resonating in his blade. "I shall show you weakness fiend."
The PROJECTs stood side by side, weapons at the ready.
Victor and his BATTLECAST army stood more then ready to rip these feeble cyborgs apart.
And all the while, one who might tip the scales in favor of one or another, waits to make his move.
I can see it...Him...the one who I must face...the one who took everything from me...Ahri...Wukong...wait for me...I will be home soon.
