Legitimate New Item Suggestion
There is currently only one item in League that gives both mana and magic resist, and that is Odyn's Veil
, which is only available on Crystal Scar. I propose a somewhat similar new item for Summoner's Rift:
This item could build from Catalyst of the Protector (Cost: 1200G, +200 Health, +300 Mana) and a Negatron Cloak (Cost: 720G, +40 Magic Resist). The fully built item would cost around 2600-2800G and give the following stats, give or take a little: +300 Health, +400 Mana, +45 Magic Resist. Here are some ideas for possible passive(s)/active:
-UNIQUE Passive: Converts a small percentage of magic damage taken into mana (good for early game) -UNIQUE Passive: Gives bonus Magic Resist based on maximum mana (good for late game)
-UNIQUE Active: Gives a surge of mana based on percent of mana missing (good for early game) -UNIQUE Active: Reduces a percentage of all incoming magic damage for a short time (good for late game)
The idea behind this item is to help champs that benefit from:
-Having large mana pools (Ryze
, Singed
, Kassadin
, etc.)
-Building tanky/defensively (Ryze
, Singed
, Alistar
, etc.)
-Champs that rely heavily on spamming/toggling on their mana-costing abilities (Ryze
, Singed
, Karthus
, etc.)
And generally speaking, this item would be best used when dealing with enemy teams that are primarily AP, or that just deal a lot of magic damage in general.
Overall, I feel this item will prove to be a nice asset to the game, and would be quite useful for champs like the ones I mentioned above, without making them OP or throwing the game out of balance. Additionally, all the passives/actives I described are based on numbers and percentages, meaning these can easily be adjusted to find the right balance. Additionally, this is a versatile item idea in the sense that it could be either an early or late game item (or a little of both) depending on which passive(s)/active it has.
Feedback would be much appreciated, and thank you.
gave all of the stats that you just pointed out, not in those exact amounts, but they removed the mana part of it because champs like
