Rating system for champions

I think with the massive amount of new players and the player wanting to get champions just to find out they aren't very good is unnecessary. I was thinking of implementing a rating system for league were people could vote on how good a champion is like have a 5 star rating system. So urgot might have a 2 or three and tristana has a 5 star rating.

Maybe say you have to play at least X amount of games with this champion so you can give an accurate rating.

There are tons of rating systems out there with people giving out tier lists. Don't really need a rating system since that would change all the time from patch to patch. Tier lists cover this no problem

Honestly, the meta is already massively enforced by tier lists, and riot has already caused some extra enforcement on the meta though they claimed they didn't want to (group finder forced the 1,1,2,j meta). Creating a riot-endorsed champion rating system will just cause players that don't use or don't know about tier lists to buy whatever's on top at the time, making the meta even stronger and causing even more players in ranked that use meta champs "just because they're meta" Nobody needs that :3

Even putting that aside, how would it work? How often would you be able to vote? Would riot keep tabs on what you voted for and notch down a vote when you decide to vote for something new? What about people like me that love anywhere from 3-15 champs at a time? How do they vote? It's just wayyyyyy too much to focus time, money, and programmers to create this thing that will really only cause more dysfunction to the community, and there's just way too many variables to factor that it's not even worth it, if you're really that into FOTM (which btw STOP IT) then go look up lol tier lists and buy from there.

And if it's about them being fun to play, try them on ftp first, if they're a low ftp champion, then just buy them with ip, i mean, it doesn't take THAT many games to make it back, especially with the less popular champs, they usually don't cost more than 4800
