Lore of Legends

Hello everyone. I'm Traumlos. You might've seen me poke my head around the boards every now and then, though I haven't done too much posting since they switched over to the new Reddit-style layout. Long story short, I'm a longtime League player, and I love lore. Like most people who have those two things in common, I'm very interested in helping to improve Runeterra's lore, and I've started a side project to that end.

It's called Lore of Legends. So far it's been proposed reworks for champion lore, but I'm hoping to include more than that in the near future. I think there's still room for a Journal of Justice-like outlet for Runeterra, just not one that's told through the lens of the Institute of War. So in addition to proposed champion lore rewrites, I'd like to get into 'a day in the life of' segments to help flesh out champions more, and so on.

So far I have three pieces up. There'll be a little bit of mechanical analysis on the horizon, and having an artist to illustrate for the lore I write would be great if anyone's interested. More than that, though, I'd absolutely love to hear from the community. Feel free to post your feedback here, and if you have any suggestions for who I might look at next, I've got a topic up on the Story & Art board.

For now, here's a list of everyone I've looked at so far.

Taric is probably next, but we'll see.

I've rewritten a few lores myself, a while ago, before the Retcon. Could I share them with you?

Absolutely!

Here they are. They were written a while ago, and I would revise them himself if I had more time right now. As a caution, Veigar is the weakest of the four. But I'm currently working on a revised Zed lore to improve upon the one I've already written.

Here's the aforementioned WIP Zed Story:

Swept overboard to wash ashore in unknown lands, a young Zed found himself orphaned in the waning aftermath of a squall. Alone and bereft yet undaunted, the boy clung onto his life, unwilling to surrender the life he hadn't yet lived. He formed tools from the debris he found ashore, and learned how to sustain himself in the wilderness beyond the beach.

Shortly after, Zed sighted a lone man seated in a open clearing. It was the first sight of human life since before he awoke, but Zed remained cautious. He was aware of the fact that he was in an alien land, and its inhabitants were not compelled to help him; they mightn't take kindly to him at all. But he decided to investigate closer, to please his curiosity if nothing else. He concealed himself within the undergrowth then crept toward the clearing. The approach was slow but furtive. Zed considered the crackle of the leaves beneath him; the rustling of the brush he interred himself in. Nothing rose above the forest's own murmurous tune. Having reached the clearing's edge, confident in his own handling, Zed dared a glimpse out through the brush.

The man hadn't moved from his seat behind a stone that served as a table. He sipped from a small cup, no larger than his own palm, then invited Zed. Zed stilled. The man's blithe nonchalance, in a language he understood even, frightened him. He remained there, quiet but afraid, and poised to run, but he didn't know for how long; his thoughts were torturous. The older man beckoned again. Zed didn't know what he said, despite the words all being right; he couldn't think or comprehend, yet his body shifted. He realized after the fact that he had left the brush and stepped out onto the clearing. Zed complied when the man bid him for a third time.

An accepted offer of treats allayed Zed's mind. The man said nothing else while Zed ate; he seemed content with watching, his face otherwise impassive. He did not speak until the last of the treats was gone . . .

What about fun-fiction role? Not the short one.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean by fun-fiction;; sorry! Any chance you could clarify?
