Viktor waited patiently in his new throne room. It needed some renovations but he had a millennia to do them. Viktor rose from his throne and wandered to a window, looking out into the dark night that engulfed the fallen city. One day this will all be fixed, all the buildings, and roads, the skyline, it will all be remade to my designs. There was a knock on the door, Viktor had been expecting company for some time now, understandable that he would be late, there was much to do. The doors opened, slowly Azir walked in, he bowed to his master. Viktor returned to his throne, calmly he said, "Azir do you know why i have summoned you?" Viktor didn't expect a correct answer from his pawn. "I do not sir, please inform me so that i may do your bidding." Viktor relaxed in his chair, he brought up a screen showing a clip of Cho'Gath being dragged into a pit. "As you may know, the prime is dead, and my armies need a new one. You are to become my new prime." Azir wasn't shocked, he knew he was the logical choice to become a prime, he had the power to control many troops on the battlefield. "I thank you for this honour my lord, do you have any other requests?" Viktor turned his chair to face the window, once again looking out into the night. "A few of my soldiers are unaccounted for, in particular I wish my generals to be returned to me. I want you to find Elise, Xerath and Vel'koz for me." Viktor turned his head to give Azir a menacing glare, "If they will not return willingly, you shall end them."

Azir knew what had happened to many of the machines that had left, he did not wish to find them. Like them Azir also saw Cho'gath's memory, it was like the fog had been lifted from their minds. Those capable of higher thought were able to resist Viktor's grip on their mind when he tried to retake control, it wasn't as difficult as it was the first time round. It would appear that Viktor is having difficulty controlling the vast influx of followers that are coming to him. It is why he had decided to wait a few years before he finishes the Legion, he needed to upgrade himself to be able to control so many. Cho'gath and Azir had the gift naturally, as did others in Runeterra, Malzahar had managed to avoid capture during his time in Shurima, there are rumours circulating that he is staying in Bilgewater, controlling the void population. Now that Azir had his mind back, he vowed never to lose himself again, but he would not be as foolish as he was last time. Throughout history there have always been dictators, he learned this from his home, and when there were tyrants, there would always be someone there to rise up against them, to silence the common enemy. Azir just had to wait for a revolution to begin, that's when he would make his move. Until then, he would have to wait and play pet. He has waited so long for his empire to rise again, it seems he will have to wait a little bit longer.

Freedom, it has been so long since I have felt this way. My mind has returned, and i can think again, I can feel again. Look at me, I look so corrupted, my form before was a thing of beauty, a sarcophagus to remind me of who I was, and what i did to get there. This body now, it's just a reminder of what i was made into. A whole year as a vegetable, it felt like i was outside of myself, screaming against the glass to wake up. These chains bind me no more, no more shall i be a slave, not again, never again! Though, as I look back at the land that bound me, all i can see is a nation of slaves, slaves to a single master. I wish i was strong enough to save you all now, but one day, I shall return to you, and i shall break the chains that bind you, I shall release you from your torment. At any cost.

Elise crawled out on the field, she was damaged, terribly so. Again her children were taken from her, sure these weren't her real children, just lifeless imitations. But looking at them made her remember her real children, and her home. The thought of home warmed her heart so much, the thought brought her to tears. She has lost everything, over and over again, always taken from her. Look at what she has become, hard greasy metal bound to her once beautiful body. Elise grabbed a piece of her exoskeleton, and began trying to tear off the metal. So much pain, she screamed out, but there was noone there to hear her, no one there in the black of the night. She was alone, so very alone, she has been alone for a long time. She cannot return to the Shadow Isles, not like this. She kept trying to tear at her self, kept inducing pain on herself, eventually she couldn't take it anymore. She wanted to feel deaths embrace, perhaps her soul can return home, back to where all damned souls go, to Thresh. She made a noose out of her own silk, and tied it to a tree. She wasn't sure if it would work, but she tried it anyway. Elise leaves the world, her thoughts set on home, a home she can finally return to.

"Ezreal I need to talk to you." Zilean was getting impatient with Ezreal, although he admired his kindness in helping the refugees with food and warm clothing, he didn't have a lot of time to waste waiting. "I have a lot to explain to you and i may not have a lot of time to say it and i am not completely sure how well you will understand what i have to say." Ezreal dropped what he was doing and escorted Zilean to a more private area, a little ways away from the large crowds of humans and yordles camping out outside the mountains. "Okay, you have my attention Zilean." Zilean began waving his hands around an invisible ball, slowly lights began to emerge from within it. "I am going to explain to you a simple concept of how the world works. Many people think of time as something that flows in a single direction. This isn't true, you should think of time as a rope. Each strand of a rope represents a time line." The lights began to spiral around each other. "When a decision is made two worlds form, a world where the decision was made, and a world where it wasn't, depending on what the decision was, the flow of time will continue in the same direction. This shows that some things are inevitable." The lights turned to an image of void creatures ravaging a city. "Whether you wanted it or not this continent was going to be destroyed, whether it be from the Void, Viktor's revolution, the Steel Legion, or even the Shadow Isles, the destruction of this continent around this time is predetermined." Ezreal began to feel confused, rightly so this was a difficult topic. "Why are you showing me this, why do i need to know this?" Zilean was starting to feel annoyed, he didn't like interruptions. "Because there is a way out for you, a way you can live in a world where this doesnt happen. Like i said there are an infinite number of worlds that are different based on the choices made, now, say way back in the past a very important choice was made, this would create a different world line, we are currently in the Gamma world line, but in the Beta world line, things are very different." Ezreal still felt confused, but continued to listen intently. "In the Beta world line there are people called Summoners, and they settle all diplomatic disputes by fighting people against each other, i know its weird. However eventually that world line will be destroyed, but not if i send you there, it will shift to become the Alpha world line, where it doesn't get destroyed." Ezreal began to feel skeptical, perhaps Zilean was just a crazy old man who knew some magic... "How do you know all this will work?" Ezreal quizzed. "I discussed it with myself, well eleven of myself, we had a bit of a council to talk about creating an Alpha world line. But that's not important. We are all sending very specific people to the Beta world line for it to work. For example, I am sending you, as we all agreed, a different Zilean is sending Udyr, in his world there is some trouble with spirits and Udyr became a spirit guard. We are still discussing who else to send, or well we haven't discussed it yet, our meeting is in the future..." Ezreal wasn't completely convinced, but he played along with the old man's story. "Okay so if i go to this new world, then wouldn't there be two of me? wouldn't that destroy the world or something?" Ezreal half meant it as a joke. "I see you haven't read my book, allow me to explain. When you shift to a new world, one of the bodies is replaced, there is a thirty percent chance that you will stay alive in that world, as your body is not tuned to the time stream. Which is why i installed that Ai into your suit, to make sure you live she will adjust your suit to keep you alive. It's one of the reasons i have this big clock on my back, to keep me alive and to replace any other Zilean in that world, unless he also has a clock, in which we both stay, allowing us to have our meeting." Ezreal didn't quite believe Zilean, and did not believe such nonsense as time travel to begin with. His uncle told him about how great Zilean was, but in the end he turned out to be a senile old man. Ezreal's Ai alerted them both to something large and hostile moving towards them, coming down from the mountains. Ezreal looked up and saw a large, metallic, tentacle monster floating down towards the two of them. "I figured following Ezreal's heat signature would lead me to you Zilean. I just want to know what you know" Ezreal turned to the chronolord, for some reason, everything he looked at looked lighter, like i glowed. "Why dont you just tell him what you told me?" Zilean shook his head, "This has happened before, no matter what he will try to kill me, it's how he learns from organics, he is going to kill you as well, sorry, it's going to hurt." What did he mean by that. Suddenly Ezreal felt very hot, like extremely hot, Vel'Koz was firing his laser down on him. After a couple seconds of pain Ezreal opened his eyes, Zilean was talking to him him repeating what he said when he began the conversation. "Wait what happened, you said this before, why aren't I dead?" Zilean smiled. "I see we have shifted time lines, so then Vel'Koz has killed you and i sent your memories back, i don't need to explain. Funny i haven't gotten this far yet. Okay i am going to send you to the Beta world line, are you ready. Ah it doesn't matter you don't have time to be ready Vel'Koz will be here soon." Ezreal began to glow, it was like a blue light was enveloping him, and sucking him through a hole the size of a pin. After a few seconds, he was gone.

"Weird, it seems Ezreal's heat signature has disappeared, did i lose him?" Vel'koz was hovering at the peak of the Ironspike Mountains, there were clouds blocking his vision. A light began to shine in front of him, after a few seconds Zilean appeared in front of him. "Zilean, I have been looking for you for a very long time." "I know" "I want you to teach me how to travel through time." "I know" "I bet you already know how this conversation is going to turn out." "I do" "Then perhaps I should begin." "Very well, my role in this is over, you always seem to find a way to kill me, i might as well just let it happen this time. Before you do it, can you humour an old man and let him tell you a prophecy?" "Very well, tell me the future that you see." "Something big is going to happen in Piltover, or Apokolips as it will soon be called. A battle between men of metal, one will live and one will die. It will change this world, it will either destroy it, or it will save it." "If that is bound to happen then it will happen, anything else you want to tell me?" "You will die, you try to jump to the Alpha world line and the Vel'Koz there kills you." "I am not so pleased to hear that part, but it's going to happen, and i cannot stop that, i want to see the Alpha, the world that all worlds are based on. From what i learned you and the original timelords messed it up, moving alpha beings from there to other worlds, I saw that tale in Shurima." "You realise you are not the Alpha Vel'koz." "I do" "But you will go there anyway?" "I will" "Very well, do it, finish off the last of the Timelords." Vel'Koz incinerated Zilean, absorbing the boundless knowledge that he contained. It felt good, like his gluttony was being fed just a little bit. Vel'Koz opened a portal to the Alpha world line, and entered. It was the last anyone ever saw of the Eye of the Void.

At the refugee camp Jayce confronted a group of people talking at a camp fire. They looked like military types from a distance, on closer inspection, he could identify them more clearly. Caitlyn, Yasuo and Rumble were drowning their sorrows in the bottom of a glass. Jayce readied his fist and punched Yasou hard in the face, Yasuo fell back, the metal of his exo-suit made a clank of the rocks. "Where were you? At the lab we needed you are you weren't there!" Yasuo looked up at Jayce, spitting out blood on the ground. "Heimerdinger asked me to make sure the refugee's got out safely." "Lies! Because of you Heimerdinger died! Because you weren't there to save him!" Yasuo stood up fast and punched Jayce square in the jaw. Jayce fell to the ground, Yasuo grabbed Jayce's collars. "YOU REALLY THINK I WANTED TO LEAVE HIM, HE TOLD ME DIRECTLY TO PROTECT THE CIVILIANS, HE REFUSED TO TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. I HAVE LOST SO MUCH. MY MASTER, MY BROTHER, MY HOME. I have made many mistakes my life. I didn't want to go, to leave him behind. But he told me that the people needed me, that they needed all of us if we were going to make it through this." Jayce had tears running down his eyes, he knew it wasn't Yasuo's fault. The blame lay with Viktor, he just needed to vent his frustration. Everyone was feeling pretty low. Footsteps could be heard walking towards the fireplace. Caitlyn turned around to see who it was. It was Jinx. Furious Caitlyn launched herself at Jinx, pinning her to the ground with her hands around her neck. "YOU! YOU DID THIS, IT HAS YOUR WORK WRITTEN ALL OVER IT." Jinx kicked Caitlyn off of her, gasping for air she said, "Yes, he hired me to do it, I also killed Vi." Caitlyn charged for another attack, but was held back by Yasuo. She kept struggling to free herself from his grip, crying. Jayce pointed his hammer at Jinx, "You better have a good reason to be here before i kill you." "Yes well, i like to destroy stuff, so i help Viktor, and he gave me these cool guns, which are very effective at killing his robots by the way. So I came here with a proposal, I want to destroy Viktor's city." Everyone was silent. "It has been made abundantly clear how inferior we are to Viktor's machines, so we have to fight him with his own tech. I met up with one of his robots, can't remember her name, spider lady or something. Anyway she said that the bird man let her go and that he wants me to destroy Viktor's city. Not now, when we're ready." Jayce began to lower his hammer, Caitlyn tried to calm herself down. "We need to get our hands on some of his tech, and use it against him, and were going to need some help. If we get too close to him he can control our minds, he tried it on me, but i guess i am just too crazy for him to handle, Spider lady told me that his control is weakening as his armies grow." The group were listening intently, others around them began to listen as well. "So here's what i think, we stay in Frejold for a while under the Legions protection, and we recruit us a team to hunt Viktor's head. The Headhunters." Jayce spoke up, "It's fine if you want to make a team to destroy his city, but i want to kill him personally. If he wants to convert the world into machines, then fine, i will become one too. I will become a machine stronger than him, and I will march up to him and kill him with my bare hands."

I really enjoyed reading this! When u released part 5 of the Reign portion of your story I went back and read Rise and Dawn too. I'm very curious as to how it will end.! And also a quick question' are you going to include any independent champions in this? Ones that come to my mind include the likes of Brand and Zyra. Zyra especially cause she's nature incarnate and is like the extreme opposite of Viktor. Plus she's also one of my favorite champs! I don't know but in my mind it would seem like if Zyra's been hearing of Viktor's atrocities that she would be like cultivating a monster plant army or something like that to combat the machines!
