General Concept

Rydia is a mid-to-long ranged AOE harassment mage who pokes down enemies rather than bursting them, becoming more powerful the longer a fight goes on. Her spells are also optimized to deal large amounts of AOE damage rather than deal with a single target, and are better at DPS than burst damage.

Along with being excellent at poking enemy teams, Rydia can be fairly evasive thanks to her W skill. Additionally, compared to other harassers, Rydia's passive also makes her very good at favorable harassment trades; though the shield is very short-lived and has low strength, it can do a lot to deflect small amounts of damage from poke shots. Once a teamfight starts, her ultimate lets her spread huge amounts of damage upon entire teams as long as she keeps casting.

Statistics (may change)

HP: 375 (+73)
HP5: 4.65 (+0.60)
MP: 230 (+64)
MP5: 6 (+0.90)
Damage: 48 (+3.0)
Range: 575
Armor: 10 (+3)
Magic Resistance: 30 (+0)
Attack Speed: 0.625 (+1.72%)
Movement Speed: 330

Abilities (suggestions on improvements will be appreciated)

P - Song of the Sylphs

Whenever Rydia casts a spell, she shields herself for 1 second, absorbing up to 30+(5*level) (+0.2 AP) damage. This effect has a 3-second static cooldown.

Q - Stardust Reverie

Rydia fires seven star blasts in a cone (1000 range, 45 degree spread), dealing 60/70/80/90/100 (+0.4 AP) magic damage to each target hit. Each star will only hit one enemy, and each enemy will only be hit by one star. Each cast grants her a Star Stack (max. 4) for 6 seconds, increasing her mana regeneration by 6/7/8/9/10% per stack. Rydia's next Stardust Reverie deals 25% more damage and costs 25% more mana per Star Stack.

3 second cooldown at all ranks. Costs 40/45/50/55/60 mana.

W - Nightingale Melody

Rydia blinks to target location (500 range) and leaves behind a magical sphere at her starting point. After 1 second, this sphere activates and begins tracking enemies that wander too close to it. If an enemy comes too close, the sphere will chase it and explode either upon contact or upon expiring, dealing 80/110/140/170/200 (+0.5 AP) magic damage to all enemies in a blast radius (~300 radius) and slowing all enemies hit by 40/50/60/70/80% for 1 second. Casting any other of Rydia's spells reduces the cooldown of Nightingale Melody by 1 second. The sphere lasts 5 seconds before expiring.

20/19/18/17/16 second cooldown. Costs 80/85/90/95/100 mana.

E - Twilight Verse

Rydia fires a skillshot in target direction (max. 1000 range), dealing 30/45/60/75/90 (+0.3 AP) magic damage to the first enemy it hits and marks it for 4 seconds. After 1 second, the effect transfers to all enemies within 400 range of the target, damaging and marking them. This repeats until no more targets are available; each target can only be affected once per cast. (This spreading is akin to Varus' ultimate, but also works on minions and monsters.)

If Rydia damages a marked enemy with a spell or basic attack, the mark is consumed and Rydia deals 50/75/100/125/150 (+0.5 AP) magic damage to it.

16/14/12/10/8 second cooldown. Costs 60/65/70/75/80 mana.

R - Grand Symphonia

For the next 12 seconds, whenever Rydia casts a spell, she sends a homing bolt at up to three nearby enemies (prioritizes Champions; 1000 range), each dealing 40/80/120 (+0.25 AP) magic damage when they strike. These bolts ricochet off the primary target onto a secondary target up to 300 range away, dealing half damage to the subsequent target.

100/90/80 second cooldown. Costs 100 mana.

lol, I just want to point something out. If you made her really fat, you could make her ult be:

"It's not over till the fat lady sings"

And then her ult is a super powerful sonic wave or something that completely wrecks the enemy team.

Just a silly idea. :P

I'm not exactly the guy to judge on AOE based champs, as my champs I create are mostly single/double target burst champs. I see her q as getting a bit OP, to be honest. With 40% CD, it would reset every 2 seconds and does that mana cost and damage also only stack 4 times? or is it only the mana generation?

How far do you have to be from the sphere on the W for it to hone in on you? With an 80% slow, you could build Rylai's and have a basic stun out of that. How fast does the sphere move?

I'd love some lore on this champ. She seems like a more offensive form of Soraka.

If it's not too much, you should take a look at my most recent project, "Sicci and Runner, the Bonded Ones." I'm still thinking of an ult for that one. haha. :P

Seeya on the rift,

Figured out an ultimate for Rydia. Might not be properly balanced yet. =/
