[Fan Fiction] Reign of the Glorious Evolution (part 4) "War at Piltover"
Caitlyn stood atop the tallest building at the Piltover Waterfront, looking out into ocean. The alarms began to sound, the attack had begun. The civilians and noncombatants were directed to an underground shelter, it had a tunnel that stretched out past the mountains for people to escape through. Rich nobles stayed in their own personal panic rooms, surrounded by their possessions, whilst their yordle servants were left out to defend themselves. Caitlyn looked down her scope, she could see over fifty rockets flying towards the city. It was too much for the turrets to shoot down, and too much for her to shoot down as well. That didn't mean she wasn't going to try. Caitlyn began to snipe as many rockets as she could in the time she had, she calculated that she could get about a dozen. From within the water, mechanical tentacles rose up. It was the mecha leviathan, sacrificing itself to destroy a large portion of the rockets. after fifteen minutes of shooting, the rockets were destroyed. Caitlyn was tired, and her ammo was low. Shooting down the rockets put a lot of stress on her mentally, she needed a rest. She began moving towards the stairs, when she heard the sirens sound again. She looked towards the Waterfront to see another wave of rockets heading for the city. Caitlyn fell to her knees, she couldn't stop them, these were definitely going to destroy the turrets and the outer edge of the city. The fighting is going to happen, whether she wanted it or not. She had no choice. Caitlyn put her hand into her pocket and took out a key, she had to release the mech. Caitlyn was rushing through the streets, policemen and armed citizens were rushing past her, running to the edge of the city to meet the enemy head on. Caitlyn lost her footing and stumbled to the ground. A large mechanical hand picked her up, Caitlyn screamed thinking it was a Battlecast robot. Caitlyn was put onto her feet, and turned to see it was Vi. "Where are you going? The fight is that way!" Caitlyn averted her eyes and said, "There is something i need to do, something i need to release." Vi didn't quite understand, but from the look in Caitlyn's eyes she could tell she was serious. "Cait, when you have done what you need to do, get the civs out of here. You're too tired to fight, you will certainly die." "I can't leave you and the men, you guys need me." "The civilians need you more, they need someone who can keep order, and the mayor definitely can't do that. He would get drunk on power and call himself the Meriff or something." Caitlyn realised she couldn't argue with Vi, she was too stubborn. Vi ran back a few steps and looked back at Caitlyn. They both knew this was to be the last time they would see each other, the last conversation they would have together. Vi wished she could say something to Caitlyn, something more sentimental. Vi turned and began to run to the city's border, tears flowing in her eyes. "Goodbye"

Heimerdinger displayed and image of Acropolis on a screen in front of the mecha. "Destroy this city and any machines with similar design aspects." UNDERSTOOD Baron Nashor began to burrow underground, burrowing deep into the earth. He was large, two thirds the size of the tallest building in Runeterra. The main head was a control centre, it was guarded by two smaller head, each with their own attacks. Baron could feel something large above it, perhaps it was his target. He began to burrow towards the surface, at full speed. He launched out of the ground, rising high up into the air. He could see a extremely large machine next to it, It was smaller than he was, but still very large, it had large speakers mounted on its shoulders and on its hands. This was definitely a target. Baron brought his Jaws down on the machines back, the smaller heads also clasping different sections of the giant, Baron gripped hard. Cho'gath swung his back into a building behind him, dislodging Baron from his back. Baron slithered back into his hole, Cho'gath, pressed his speakers into the grounds and emitted powerful sound waves into the earth. Baron charged at full speed below Cho'gath and erupted beneath him. Cho'gath was knocked back into a skyscraper, crumbling it on top of him. Baron waited with a portion of his body emerged from the earth, Cho'gath emerged from the rubble jaws first and bite into one of the smaller heads. The other small head sprayed Cho'gath's back with acid, and the larger head bit down on the affected area, getting a good grip on Cho'Gath. Cho'Gath rammed one of his speakers into the smaller head and emitted a powerful sound pulse into it, destroying it. Mecha Baron began to drag Cho'gath into the hole it was in, But Cho'gath resisted heavily, and attempted to drag Baron out of the hole. It was a stalemate, the two most powerful creations on both sides battling out to the death, winning this fight may win the war. The great worm vs the Terror of the void, For this fight to find a victor, someone would need to intervene. Mecha Malphite activated Unstoppable Force.exe and charged into Cho'gath, knocking him back a few metres, Vel'koz fired his main laser at Malphite, instantly breaking through his shields and eventually breaking him apart. Aatrox descended from the sky, landing on Cho'gath's head. Aatrox plunged his sword into Cho'gath's neck, and activated his jets pushing Cho'gath towards the hole. Vel'koz began firing rockets at Aatrox, they were doing heavy damage but he stood fast and kept going, eventually Cho'gath was dragged in. Baron began to coil himself around Cho'gath and Aatrox, crushing them both under his immense pressure. Cho'gath began to screech in pain, this was his death. His life flashed before his eyes, he remembered everything, who he was, and what he was made into. This thought spread to many of the Battlecast machines. On the surface Vel'Koz was hovering above the hole. charging his laser, but he heard a sound. He looked around and didn't see any enemies, none that were visible. Kha'zix was stalking his prey, techniques based from the original organic. Suddenly Mecha Kha'zix flew up and landed on top of Vel'Koz, and began slashing away at him. Vel'koz was taking overpowering damage, he needed to get the bug off of him, so he crash landed on the ground. Kha'zix was preparing to finish his kill when he was trapped in a electrical prison by Battlecast Skarner. Skarner dragged Kha'zix into a nearby building where they began to duel each other. Vel'koz picked himself up and began firing rockets at the building, bringing it down on Skarner and Kha'zix. After a few minutes Skarner emerged from the rubble, heavily damaged. The two agreed to retreat back to Acropolis to be healed by Battlecast Nami, but what they saw was truly terrible. Mecha Baron emerged from the ground outside Acropolis, leaping up and landing on the building. He began to take bites out of the city, trying to worm his way inside to destroy it from within. Viktor was in his control room, he refused to be defeated by a creation of Jayce, he decided to release his secret weapon. Viktor brought up the generator room on his console, Xerath's shackles loosened, dropping the ascended machine on the ground. Viktor needed Xerath battle ready, so he gave him back his mind, with orders to protect Acropolis. Xerath moved to the roof and looked down on the worm, it was badly damaged, its fight with Cho'gath weakened it heavily. Xerath rooted himself to Acropolis and unleashed an Arcane barrage onto Baron, targeting weak points in his armour. After taking a few hits, Baron slithered up to meet Xerath head on. Baron opened his mouth and made movements towards Xerath, he intended to eat him. Xerath was not to be underestimated, he unleashed a massive barrage into Barons mouth, heavily damaging it. Baron fell down to the ground, stunned by Xerath's attack. Acropolis moved under Xerath's control, he brought a leg down on Baron, crushing its head. Xerath looked to the heavens and exclaimed, "I AM FREE!"
Hours into the fight, the city was half destroyed, the machines were overpowering the organics. A large group of Yordles were running away from a group of Battlecast Voids, Rumble emerged and fired a line of rockets to cut off the machines. He charged in and unleashed a flamethrower onto the enemies, incinerating many of them. Those that got too close took a drill to the gut. A ball of spider silk was flung at Rumble's legs, he couldn't move out of it. A large mechanical spider launched itself at Rumble, and began to attack the glass that protected him. Rumble overheated his systems and fired a flamethrower at Elise, she took heavy damage but kept going with the attack, unable to feel pain. "Do you think you can defeat me Yordle?" "Just who do you think i am!" Rumble drove his drill deep into the Spider Queen's abdomen. However Rumble collapsed on the ground, his body detached from his legs. Elise was just a distraction, whilst her smaller spiders gnawed at Rumble's joints in an attempt to break him apart. Eventually Elise broke through the glass with her fangs. Rumble couldn't move, he was too scared, was he going to die here? "Scare little Yordle?" "I don't know how to be afraid!" Elise began to back away, she was taking on a barrage of pulsefire. She disappeared into the shadows, but her spiderlings were destroyed. Ezreal walked over to Rumble's mech suit, and looked inside. "You were very brave. But we need to get out of here, you can't move anymore in that suit, were gonna have to leave it behind." "We can't leave it behind! This is everything i have, it's who I am." Ezreal picked Rumble up from within his mech suit and carried him away from the battlefield, escorting him and the rest of the Yordles to the underground tunnels.
Zilean floated across the battlefield, everything around him moved slowly, no one noticed him. He was looking for Ezreal, he had a mission he needed to fulfill. "Strange, the boy was just here with me..." Zilean saw something in the corner of his eye, someone terrible. Vel'koz was slaughtering some soldiers. Slowly Vel'koz turned around, and saw Zilean. Vel'Koz began to speed up, following the same time flow as Zilean. "Finally i have found you." Zilean began to back away, trying to change his time flow to get away from Vel'Koz. He knew that Vel'Koz was a great danger to him, in many other world lines Vel'Koz kills Zilean, he would not let that happen in this world line. Vel'Koz tried to chase Zilean, but could not keep up with the master of time. Zilean met up with Ezreal and the Yordles, adding them to his time flow, Vel'koz could see, Ezreal. Why does he get to stay with the Chronolord? Vel'Koz made it his goal to find out, to find Ezreal and use him to find Zilean again. Zilean began to speak to Ezreal, "I need you alive, i made a promise to your uncle, and to you. You may be the only one able to stop this war."
Further into the city Vi was alone, all her comrades had died around her, only she was left standing. She was tired, so tired, she had destroyed so many of the machines. Behind her she heard a familiar laughter, a laughter that annoyed her greatly. She turned around and saw Jinx, pointing a Gatling Laser cannon at her, with the biggest grin on her face. "So this is where I die" Vi thought to herself, "Fitting that it would be to you Jinx." Vi charged at Jinx, taking on an onslaught of lasers whilst doing so. Vi punched jinx hard in the gut, causing her to spit up blood, Vi grabbed Jinx and launch them both into the air, and then crashing down hard on the ground. Jinx withdrew her stun gun and shocked Vi in the neck, the pain was excruciating. She then kicked Vi back onto some gravity grenades, and pointed a large rocket at Vi. Jinx unleashed the rocket. Vi laid on her back, she didn't have the energy to move at all. Jinx walked over to Vi, knelt down and kissed Vi. Jinx walked back a few step and withdrew her upgraded Fishbones, firing one last rocket at Vi to finish her.
Jayce, Heimerdinger and Ziggs were at their lab, trying to delete the data from their systems. Jayce picked up his hammer and began to move to the door. "We have to go now if we want to make it out alive." Heimerdinger kept typing on his console. "You go, and take Ziggs with you, I will stay here and finish the job." Ziggs turned to Heimerdinger, extremely saddened by the preceding statement. "I can't just leave you to die." "You have to, I need you to live Ziggs, in my place. This is my fault, i didn't take Viktor seriously enough. We weren't prepared enough for this war. Jayce, carry Ziggs and go." Jayce picked up a struggling, crying yordle and moved to the door, looking back at Heimerdinger he said, "I'm sorry." Heimerdinger looked back at Jayce and said, "I'm not." He looked back at the console. "Had to be me, someone else might have gotten it wrong." Jayce ran out the building, behind him he could hear machines entering the lab, a few seconds later the lab exploded. Ziggs wailed in despair, fainting from the stress. Jayce felt so much sorrow, but mostly, he felt hatred for Viktor.
Most of the fighting had ended, Viktor sat in the Mayor's office, with a camera pointed at him. He broadcasted himself to any available screen in the Vicinity of Piltover. "Greetings, I am Viktor, your new leader. Today i give you two choices, you can join me and evolve to a higher being, and live in my new world. Or you can stay a pitiful human, as a rebel to die in your old world. The choice is yours, i cannot make it for you. If you wish to join me i will be here, in the seat of my empire."
. I love how you've had the story so far, and seeing a lot of my favorite game's theme's tied into the story elements you've posted so far. I mean for real. The line Heimie
says at the end, that's from the Mass Effect, too legit man. Also nobody called you out on it, but that "It only takes one man to send a message" totally from Mulan.
