Fantasy LCS Cheat Sheet: Summer 2016 Week 2

Both regions kicked off the LCS Summer Split with explosive games and huge upsets. The new best of formats add a whole new level of excitement to the matchups as teams have the chance to recover from their games and adapt to their opponent.

And you better also be adapting in Fantasy LCS if you want to get to the top of your league! A Week 1 win is nice, but what's more important is that we use what we learned from the first set of games to set us up for success the rest of the 2016 Summer Split.

We're taking a new approach to fantasy advice on the site this Split. Let us know what you think of this new format in the comments below!

Week 2 Studs

These dominant players have everything they need to crush the competition this week. We expect them to be among the best in their role for Fantasy LCS.

  • TOP - Impact (vs. P1, CLG): Back to form. He was the #2 top laner last week. CLG and P1 both let opposing top laners get huge in Week 1.
  • JUN - Jankos (vs. GIA, FNC): EU's First Blood King will dominate GIA, and FNC are still untested against top-tier teams. Has potential to go wild.
  • MID - Bjergsen (vs. APX, IMT): TSM's new aggressive style is ideal for Fantasy owners. This week will be challenging, but Bjergsen does well even in losses.
  • ADC - Zven (vs. ROC, SPY): G2 played it safe last week, but I'll give them one more chance to go aggressive and rack up points against these weaker teams.
  • SUP - Aphromoo (vs. TL, C9): Faces tough teams, but he was the #4 support last week with 0 wins counted. If CLG improve at all, he'll top the charts.

Week 2 Underdogs

You may have doubted these players, but we think they'll outperform expectations this week and be worth a starting spot -- despite being started in less than 50% of Fantasy LCS leagues.

  • TOP - Seraph (vs. APX, P1): Proved he still wants to hard carry and rack up fantasy points. APX will fight back, but P1 could be pure points fodder.
  • JUN - Gilius (vs. SPY, OG): Already the #4 EU jungler. Looked unstoppable against UOL. Weak opponents this week should give more opportunities to melt faces.
  • MID - Fox (vs. SPY, OG): #14 overall last week. Ready for the big leagues.
  • ADC - LOD (vs. APX, P1): 18/3/29 is a stat line I want to see more of in my Fantasy lineups. LOD will soak up a lot of kills in these fights.
  • SUP - Xpecial (vs. NV, TSM): Criminally underrated going into Week 1, he looked like he's in his prime form. Much tougher schedule this week, but we don't know his limit yet.

Week 2 Bench Warmers

Even the best players run into bad matchups that'll spoil their Fantasy scores from time to time. You shouldn't risk starting these high-scoring picks, but you can't afford to drop them either -- stash them safely on your bench for this week.

  • Cloud9's Smoothie + Cloud9's Bunny Fufuu: Combined, Bunny Fufuu and Smoothie would've had the highest Fantasy points total of any support this week. But having to share time on the roster dropped them to #7 and #12, respectively. Until Cloud9 seems likely to commit to a single support, wait out this timeshare on the bench.
  • ROC's Betsy: He looked great last week, but G2 is an extra-scary opponent now that they seem to be playing it safe and avoiding needless fights. Betsy is likely to get strangled out of fantasy-point opportunities in that series, and will have to make up for it against Vitality. Possible, but not something I want to rely on just yet.

Week 2 Dropouts

It's tough, but sometimes Fantasy LCS owners have to know when to cut their losses and move on. These players are in a tough situation this week, and their future prospects don't warrant a bench slot. Trade them for an upgrade, if you can.

  • NRG's Kiwikid: Poor Kiwikid can't catch a break. NRG looks like it has a lot of problems right now and their support won't score many Fantasy points until they work out at least some of them.
  • All of Origen: You likely spent a few decent draft picks on Origen players, so this is going to hurt. But it's time to move on. Origen is throwing up every possible warning sign for fantasy owners. With Forg1ven leaving and xPeke stepping in as temporary ADC, this squad needs to make some huge changes to earn your Fantasy LCS trust again. Until then, steer clear.

Week 2 Investment Pickups

If you're looking for long-term gains, think about stashing one of these potential slow-burners on your bench. They're owned in less than 25% of leagues right now, but they're showing signs of future Fantasy LCS glory.

  • APX's Apollo: Apex has a tough schedule, so you might be able to hold off one more week on picking up their safe-but-reliable ADC. If you have the roster room, though, I'd grab him now and stash him for the future. He was the #5 ADC last week, showing that he'll score well when APX wins.
  • FOX's Kfo: Kfo was a monster in FOX's stomp over P1 (12/3/9 across two games), but floundered in all three games against C9 (3/6/2 total). I'm not sold on FOX yet, but they could develop over the course of the season, and Kfo definitely has the skills to score big if they can get consistent.

Good Luck!

Hopefully that rundown of roster changes, player stats, and some of our own analysis helps you make the right choices in your Fantasy LCS league this week!

Aphromoo pick is risky. CLG is in quite a bit of disarray at the moment, so I would wait until Week 3 to see how they perform this week and whether or not they're ready for picking.

I think that the Fnatic players are also a good choices for fantasy right now.

Does anyone know why meteos is only projected 25 points? Is he splitting, or does he just have a really small projection??
