League of Legends Unlawful Tribunal System

First, I want to start by saying League of Legends is a great game. This game is probably the most popular game in ESports history. It is actually a SPORT to some degree. Unfortunately it is plagued with toxic people. Due to my recent experiences, I have found this game punishes you for thinking outside the box (creative thinking). You get reported (at least in lower ELO) just because your teammate overextends and dies and he/she wants to blame someone. The reporting system works to SOME degree because you can see who verbally assaults who with the ability to review in game chat... But that is the ONLY justifyable grounds for a ban because you can see both party's story. In other banned scenarios the tribunal does NOT allow the "defendant" a chance to explain his/her side before he/she is punished. I believe this to be unlawful and if it is not fixed, there will be a class action lawsuit against Riot regarding time and money stolen from the players that do not get their chance to appeal the charges motioned against them. As I mentioned before, this is actually a SPORT (an ESport), and by having this classification, Riot is responsible for their actions. Example, a basketball player only shoots with one hand. It is not the accepted "most effective tactic available", but it works for him/her. That is why this person does it. He/she can not, in this sense, get banned (or worse, banned for LIFE) for using the META for THEM. League of Legends, however, unlawfully bans players with tactics that other players don't understand. Just like in basketball, you do not have the right to ban a person for thinking this way. It is a Team Sport, and everyone has their own ideas for the best way to win. Each player has their own META. But let's get back to the point... Riot has banned many players illegally from playing this sport as well as taken the money spent on their game. This is unlawful and needs to be handled in the correct manner. Thank you for your time and understanding.

  1. This belongs in Player Behavior and Moderation, not in E-sports.

  2. You will not be banned for off meta picks. People can report you all they want. It won't do anything. You can be banned for intentionally losing a game, but even something as odd as Ap Zed wouldn't get a ban.

  3. You can not sue Riot for banning you. It is in the terms of service that they can ban for ANY reason or no reason at all. Any case brought against them would be laughed out of court.

Hope this answers some of your concerns.

Reports can only get you banned if you're AFK or something like 0/29/0. Other than that you won't get banned unless you're being toxic in the chat.
