The Group Stage has come and gone in a whirlwind of excitement, leaving us with our eight Quarterfinalists. As we wait for the Quarterfinals to get underway, let’s take a look back at the achievements of the Group Stage!
AD carries ran wild, getting 300 CS per game, and 24% of their team’s gold, while doing 31.16 % of their team’s damage to champions. However, some AD carries distinguished themselves above the rest. Fnatic’s Rekkles and Samsung White’s Imp were the only two players to score a Pentakill during the playoffs, and they also pulled in more CS and gold than any other player.
Samsung White’s Imp and Mata showed an unstoppable bot lane duo, with Imp scoring the most kills (and tying for the fewest deaths) while Mata racked up the most assists. With such a relentless bot lane duo, Samsung White moves on as one of the Knockout Stage favorites.
Their sister team, Samsung Blue, is no stranger to strong AD Carries. They center their game plan around the safe and methodical positioning of Deft, who did the most damage of any player on his team, accounting for 45% of Samsung Blue's damage.
While AD Carries may have dominated, they would be nowhere without their supports. Rekkles farmed more than any other player by a massive margin, thanks in part to the incredible warding and ward sweeping of YellowStar, who allowed him to farm safely. LMQ’s Mor was seemingly omnipresent, participating in over 85% of LMQ’s kills.
Every game feels long when you’re fighting for qualification into the Knockout Stage, but Fnatic had the longest game by far, stretching well past the hour mark (and losing by the skin of their teeth after a nailbiting Nexus rush failed).
