Get ready for the 2016 Summer Split Playoffs

Teams around the world are preparing for what is sure to be an action-packed month that will crown a Summer Split champion for the NA LCS, EU LCS, LCK, LPL and LMS.

The results of these tournaments, combined with the performances during the Spring Split and in the upcoming Regional Qualifiers, will decide the teams representing each region at the 2016 World Championship.

EUROPEAN LCS (EU LCS)

The EU LCS Playoffs kick things off August 13. The top six teams from the regular season will do battle in a single-elimination bracket, with all matches being a Best of 5.

The Quarterfinals pit 3rd place Giants vs. 6th place Unicorns of Love and 4th place H2K vs. 5th place Fnatic.

If GIA beat UOL, they’ll play 2nd place Splyce in the semifinals. But if UOL win, Splyce will play the winners of H2K vs. FNC. 1st place G2 Esports will play the remaining team in their Semifinals match.

The two losers from the Semifinals round will play for 3rd place, while the winners will face off in the Finals.

NORTH AMERICAN LCS (NA LCS)

The NA LCS will also begin Playoffs on August 13. Like EU, the postseason features the regular season’s best six teams in a single-elimination bracket of Best of 5 matches.

The first Quarterfinal match has 3rd place Cloud9 taking on 6th place Team Envy, followed by 4th place Counter Logic Gaming playing 5th place Liquid.

If C9 defeat NV, they’ll play 2nd place Immortals in the Semifinals. If instead NV wins, they’ll play 1st place TSM in the Semifinals, and Immortals will play the winner of CLG vs. TL.

The losers from the Semifinal round will play a third place match before the Semifinals winners do battle in the Finals.

CHAMPIONS KOREA (LCK)

The LCK Playoffs began on August 8. The LCK Playoffs feature the top five teams from the regular season in a single-elimination gauntlet.

The first round was a Best of 3 match, with the remaining three rounds being Best of 5.

The first round saw 4th place Samsung Galaxy defeat 5th place Afreeca Freecs to advance to the next round, where they were defeated by 3rd place KT Rolster.

Next up, KT Rolster will play 2nd place SKTelecom T1 for a chance to move on.

The winner of that match will play 1st place ROX Tigers in the Finals.

Premiere League (LPL)

China's LPL postseason began on August 9. The top four teams from the two LPL groups, A and B, will compete in the Playoffs, with all matches being Best of 5.

The first round kicked things off with 4th place Vici Gaming defeating 3rd place Game Talents, and 3rd place I MAY beating 4th place Invictus Gaming.

In Round 2, I MAY will play 2nd place Snake Esports, and Vici Gaming will face off against 2nd place Team World Elite.

The winner of the Team World Elite vs. Vici Gaming match will play 1st place Edward Gaming in the Semifinal round. Meanwhile, the winner of Snake Esports vs. I MAY will take on Royal Never Give Up.

The losers of those matches will play for 3rd place, while the winners will move on to Finals.

LEAGUE MASTER SERIES (LMS)

The LMS Playoffs get underway on August 13. The top four teams from the regular season will compete in a single-elimination bracket with Best of 5 matches.

Where to watch: Twitch

The 3rd place ahq e-Sports Club and 4th place Hong Kong Esports will play each other in the first match of Playoffs. The winner advances to play the 2nd place Flash Wolves in the second round.

Finally, the winner of that match will take on 1st place J Team to determine the LMS Summer Split champion.

Can't wait to see the EU playoffs, where whoever wins and whoever has the most number of championship points will both end up with the exact same tier of seed at worlds.

I'm not sure how the Korean and Chinese teams are looking this year, but I'd love to see EUW or NA win Worlds this time. I'm hopeful every year.

[slayer-jinx-unamused] TSM is trash, not because of the players but because of the management. I'd rather CLG, IMT, and/or C9 go to worlds. Oh, and TL too, they're pretty chill. But we all know that SKT probably will win again this year item 3070
