TL;DR: NA LCS Friday matches will begin at 3:00 PM PT starting Week 7 - July 15.

As you may have heard on the NA LCS, we’re moving up the Friday night matches to start earlier at 3:00 PM PT beginning on Week 7 - July 15. The Saturday and Sunday matches start times remain unchanged.

After hearing pro player and fan feedback about the late start time - including the short turnaround between days of competition - we decided to start the NA LCS two hours earlier.

The schedule update should make it easier for the night owls in EU and East Coast fans to be able to catch the Friday night games live. The start time change was messaged to teams and ticketholders at the end of June. We’ve also updated the Lolesports NA LCS schedule.

Due to increased demand for tickets, we’ll also be moving the TL vs. TSM match on Sunday, July 17 to the Battle Arena to accommodate a bigger live audience and NV vs. APX will be swapped to the Battle Theater.

Don’t miss the NA LCS at a new time starting with Counter Logic Gaming vs. Immortals on Friday, July 15 at 3:00 PM PT.

Bear Schmiedicker, yes, Bear is his real name, is one of the NA LCS Leads. Besides leading the NA LCS team, he works with a group that is focused on pro player career/personal development. He previously led and grew the NA Player Support team at Riot and has had a long history and passion for Esports. When he isn’t on the Rift or the NA LCS studio, he’s chasing around two corgis (Appa and Korra). On Twitter, he’s just @bearfromspace.

I'm guessing its because of that one really long night. It didn't end until 2:00 in the morning in my time zone.

Actually, it's more about viewership. People in NA can watch both their region's games and EU's games, whereas EU can only watch their region's games unless they want to pull an "all nighter" to do so. At least this way, EU people can attempt to watch friday NA games.

NO! I get off of work at 5, and I can actually watch them :/

That sucks for the off work at 5 crowd. open matches are over by the time they get home. then again with 4 time zones its hard to help everyone. So maybe faster VODS?

Yeah, its a bummer. No more live LCS matches on Friday for us West coasters who work : \

About time, as someone from EST games starting a 9pm is way too late for me to even bother to watch them. Moving them two hours earlier means I could watch the first game at least. The new time will definitely accommodate more NA fans. For those viewers in EU... ehh
