Why is UoL 1st Place Bye?

I'm just confused. G2 had a better season record and beat them in the head-to-head. Why isn't G2 1st Place Bye? Why did UoL get it instead?

2 groups. UOL was 1st in Group B while G2 was 1st in Group A.

This, and also, UOL is still considered the 2nd seed in comparison to G2. Meaning they will have to face the higher seeded team from the quarterfinals.

So it just says 2nd Place Bye next to G2, even though they're seeded higher? Why wouldn't they just say that G2 is 1st Place Bye?

That's probably just a context error. The overall factor that matters is that the 1st place teams from each group were granted semifinal byes. The reseeding would be based off of the QF results. Should UOL and G2 reach finals, then there may be matters of side selection being addressed.

The rest of that should be obvious to anyone who knows that that means! And you know...I made that mistake. It's not may be. There will be the mention of side selection, which should be obvious.

Where did it or does it say G2 is second place bye? It's probably just a typo or they accidently put G2 and UOL in the wrong spots.

According to the schedule though, G2 is the higher seed, since they are facing the lower seeded team.

Yeah. I'm starting to assume it's just an error as well, because logically it doesn't make sense. If you look at the Teams and Standings page for EU LCS, on the LoL Esports webpage, you'll see it. Though it does appear to be showing them facing the appropriately seeded team, despite the mislabeling.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's just an error. Hopefully they fix it later so it doesn't confuse anyone else.

Group A leader(G2) and Group B leader(UOL) both are given first round byes because they both lead in their "division"/"conference". G2 are the #1 seed while UOL are the #2 seed.
