Dilution of Teams in NA

The entire point in having regions for sports is to compare athletes from one region to the next. To see which region has the best talent, training, and work ethic. These teams represent the region from where they are from and represent the best of the people from their country. League of Legends teams used to be this way, but now all the teams are diluted, with Dignitas being the most pure.

RIOT needs to just get rid of NA and EU designators and just have one huge bracket for the entire world, because at least 1/3 of these players aren't representing their regions.

The Olympics and the World Cup (the two largest events that we can list under your banner, although we could count things like EURO or even Little League Baseball if we go that deep) are representations of nationalism. You root for your country and the people playing are fighting for their country.

League of Legends is more comparable to every other organized league. Did you know that last year, there were 101 international NBA players playing just on the first day? Most of the people in international American football leagues are castoffs from the NFL, most of all Canada. 55% of the Canadian Football League is from outside of Canada. And don't get me started on the clusterfuck that is the entirety of European and Latin American soccer leagues. League is in no way the only offender of this, and is in no way the biggest offender of this. They even put down regulations making sure that things like LMQ can't happen again. If they decided to do a regional battle not unlike All-Stars but without the Fire and Ice, then MAYBE they'd lock people to their home regions, but even then they might let players play with their adopted regions.

I agree with you and ideally I would prefer it that way. However, I personally believe Korea would win 90% of the world championships and that does make it a bit less entertaining to watch and enjoy. Riot is still an entertainment business and that's what it will focus on doing so to reduce the chance of it being repetitive and boring they're trying to spice it up. I think we should keep all the teams pure and authentic and if Korea will win 90% then let them. I think that will make NA learn and adapt much faster. Instead of learning and improving ourselves we'll just pay for our skills. It's like instead of teaching and helping students become smarter, we'll just lower the standards so they all look smart.
