LCS Pro Tips: Thresh

We all know that moment of terror when a hook flies at you from fog of war. Barring Blitzcrank, it's that unmistakable Thresh Q hitting you in the face, likely assuring a quite literal Death Sentence. Since his release, Thresh has been one of the strongest supports to bully bottom lane, and he's definitely worth picking up and playing if he survives the ban phase. Last week, we asked you who your favorite LCS Thresh players are, and the results are in! With nearly 9,000 votes cast, you wanted to hear pro Chain Warden tips from Curse's Xpecial, Fnatic's YellOwStaR, and Cloud9's LemonNation. Because the walls of Thresh's box are on a slight cast delay, it can be difficult to hit before your target flashes away. Xpecial's tip is a great way around this, pairing The Box with a long range Death Sentence so that they're sure to be locked down. Xpecial even went one step further and submitted his own video example! Good guy Xpecial.

The lantern gank is a huge part of what makes Thresh so strong. A lantern tossed into river, tri brush, or behind your own tower can allow your jungler to maneuver around wards and quickly pull off the gank. Here's a great example from Nyph on Alliance, even exhibiting the hook and box combo that YellOwStaR was talking about. As an astute fan noticed, it doesn't always work out. With so many skill shots it's easy to whiff (sorry YellOwStaR).
