The Game Haus is looking to expand its esports coverage. We are looking for writers who don’t want to simply report on esports, but get into analysis of events and critical pieces on the scene. You would be expected to write 2-3 articles a week on a schedule, attend a twice a month Writer’s meeting, and to promote your piece through your own social media outlets.

We are currently looking to fill out our coverage in these esports: League of Legends (Esports and in game/meta analysis) Overwatch (Esports and in game/meta analysis) Counter Strike: Global Offensive (Esports and in game/meta analysis)

Requirements

  • Passion for your selected esport: We’re wanting only the most passionate of writers, the ones who live and breathe esports and want to be a part of its increasing growth.
  • Writing skills: Clarity and precision of writing, along with a certain sense of flair or personal style, are crucial. In an increasingly expanding world of content, a bit of wit or a sharp eye for detail can go a long way.
  • Team player: We’re a smaller site than ESPN, so sharing not only your own pieces through various social media outlets is an important aspect, but sharing your fellow writer’s pieces too.
  • Desire to grow as a writer: We pride ourselves on helping each of our writers grow as writers, and we’re wanting writers who have a similar desire to constantly see themselves improve.
  • Seeing the bigger picture: Not only does the Game Haus look for more critical articles on esports, but we also pride ourselves on trying to build the narrative around news events. Rather than simply reporting that Doublelift is taking a hiatus from professional play for a split, our writers should ask what this means in the grander scheme of things.

Benefits

  • Pay: After a probation period we will discuss with the writers forms of monetary compensation. Needless to say, writers who continue to blow us away with their passion and hard work will be considered for higher compensation than those who do not. A “pay per X views” will be the form of compensation
  • Growth: The Game Haus works hard to help our writers grow in any way we can, through discussing areas to improve in their writing, SEO help, and even just help in flushing out their own writing style. We’ve had writers move through the ranks into front office positions,
  • Not just a ‘foot in the door’: At the Game Haus we hope to not just give our writers experience, but have them grow with us as a site. It’s a chance to see your opinions and hopes for the site you work for really contribute to the growth and path of the Game Haus.

Do you have the drive and passion to be part of the Haus? Then send us an email ([email protected]), attaching both a resume/CV and writing samples (esports related are preferred, but not required.)
