The era of OGN comes to an end, next split will be OGN and SPOTV

This will be the last split where it is primarily OGN Starting next season, SPOTV unfortunately join the Korean League.

What measures should be taken forward by the community and OGN ? Are Riot going to compensate the OGN casters for viciously taking away half of their work? Are Riot just planting seeds to remove outspoken critics of Riots policies, like Monte, Doa, and OGN?

Riot Korea (according to Inven) apparently have a much larger vice grip on the SPOTV and want to emulate the LCS broadcast (less hype videos, ESPN sports centre analysis after games). SPOTV have a notorious reputation for awful standards in esports, and not treating their casters well, or even not paying them at all. They have currently said "no comment" in regards to English casting, it looks like we wont get any at all.

OGN really had tremendous production today, is this the last time we see such high value. Will they eventually be filtered out of the Korean League by Riot (or just leave altogether for overwatch/CSGO).

Riot will also be assisting with caster hirings too, so dont expect OGN style commentary like Monte/doa, and more like LCS where they dont question bugs/the game, or make negative analysis of the meta. They will also be wanting SPOTV to have scripts like the LCS broadcast, again going under the "full control theme"

Will this be the final nail in the coffin for Riot in South Korean as they have seemingly overstepped their bound in Korea one too many times. Did Riot get jealous of the 100% positivity of OGNs broadcasts that, rather than try to match their standards, simply tried to shut them out so they look better? Is their unhealthy obsession to have Nazi-like dictatorship for all things esports finally going to get the better of them?

Is the obvious answer just to not watch SPOTV and show to Riot that we only want OGN, and will boycott the SPOTV games until OGN are given full control (and that means full control, including going back to the old way of 3 tournaments, sister teams, hell, screw worlds, Korea doesnt need to prove anything there).

I would highly reccomend a boycott. Still want to watch the games? use the loleventsvods subreddits, to ensure that SPOTV and Riot do not get an ounce of revenue from us. Dont talk about the games, dont make post game threads for the SPOTV matches
