Facts

Due to the upcoming roster lock for the LCS 2015 Spring Split, we have conducted an end of year review regarding Holm’s behaviour. Holm has shown a drastic improvement in his in-game behavior. A thorough investigation was done into his behavior, reports, and chat logs and found that he has actively stayed away from any hostile chat aimed towards him or others. Additionally, he encouraged others to act in line with the Summoner’s Code. During his suspension, Holm has shown he is able to conduct himself in line with the behavior we expect to see of a player competing in the LCS or CS.

Analysis

Holm has demonstrated a very significant improvement in his conduct and passes his End-of-Suspension Review.

Review Ruling

Holm is free to play in the 2015 LCS and CS.
His conduct will be monitored along with other LCS and CS players.

Why can pros get unbanned but regular players can't?

Because this on a competitive level. Their accounts weren't permabanned, they were just banned from the pro level competition. Regular players don't have to worry about things like this at all

Actually this isn´t always the case. Pros who get banned get banned across all accounts they may have - so no matter what smurfs they put up, they can´t take place in any Rito approved tournament. Sometimes pros who get officially banned have already had at least one account permabanned. The accounts stay lost, the suspension is only lifted for any remaining ones. I think it was mentioned in the previous reviews such as the Incarnation one.

I think it's the other way round, to get suspended from the competitive level needs far less bad behaviour than getting a permanent ban on an account. The pro players live up to be people who we normal players look up to and therefore they have to be extra nice. The flaming Nukeduck and mithy did sounded like something a normal player would receive a temporary ban of a week or so for, thus they got suspended from competitive level for the remaining split. I know people who have done really awful things in the game chat like racist flaming and wishing other people's deaths and none of them received a permaban - if they were professional players they would have been suspended for sure.
