Hello, I'm currently living in America, but apparently only in America and Europe you have to be over 18 in order to compete in tournaments. Can anyone tell me why it's only in these countries and nowhere else? Thanks.

Because America's leaders like to regulate things that are none of their damn business and Europe's leaders are the little puppy dogs who follow America's lead.

The amount of time pros put into the game is staggering. It's one thing when a legal adult, over the age of 18, decides to do this, but it's an entirely different problem when high school kids are doing it. You can start college a year or two later with relatively low impact on your life, but I wouldn't recommend blowing off high school for an extremely short lived career.

I assume it's because NA and EU player base have demonstrated their immaturity that they had to raise the age requirement to make sure they're likely to have mature players participating in tournaments. I mean, you wouldn't want a player smashing down the pc then chase the referee all over the place during a tournament just because shen fed irelia early.

Because the United States has child labor laws.
