No, no, and no. Seriously, when are we going to get a city that is not on the coast? The last few I think have been New York, Toronto, Vancouver, and now Miami. Can we not get something like Denver, Salt Lake City, Dallas, St. Louis or something?

Las Vegas?

Dude, the majority of civilization lies near the coast. Salt Lake City? How off-meta do you want the location to be?

I'm not saying every split but like 1 out of every 4 would be nice.

There's actual a pretty big fan base in Salt Lake. They would definitely be able to fill up an arena if they had an event there.

Yeah sure, but I'm willing to bet other places could prospectively draw a larger crowd by a factor of 10

First of all, Toronto is not a coastal city. Second of all, that's a very bizarre complaint to have.

It's as if people will complain about anything these days.

Some of us can't make it to a coastal city. Thus unless we get something like Denver or St Louis i'll never been able to see a tourny live. I don't know how that's a bizarre complaint. A large portion of the country exist between the coasts.

miami is in the southeast which hasn't hosted it before and the drive from even texas is manageable, also flights are honestly not that expensive if you buy it ahead of time.

Can't complain with his assessment. Something near the midwest for a change would be nice. Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis. Just because the states don't share the same population, people don't realize the entire state would travel for a high profile event like this.

Right now living in NE I basically feel jilted as I end up having to do more than the fair share of traveling if I even want to catch this event once in my lifetime. Unlike the outermost US. states who can make this a short drive once every 2 or 3 splits.

I think Atlanta or Savannah would have been a better choice as those places are closer to more people in the SE region. Miami is a nice spot too, but it will probably be too far for anyone not living in Florida already.

I feel your pain, I live in Hawaii. At least you guys in the continental US can take an inexpensive flight to these coastal cities. I gotta pay average $500 round-trip just to get in LAX, SFO, etc... I would love to go to a live show one day but for now, I'll be happy watching myself or with friends at viewing parties.

Live Miami...

I'd agree with you but Miami is actually close enough to me that I can go so I'm satisfied

Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville are all non coastal high profile cities that would be fun to see host playoffs...

THANK YOU! I made this joke in my interview with Travis about Miami, and it didn't get mentioned in the Reddit thread or the YT comments at all! Always good to meet another smartass sports fan like me ;)

I have heard rumors the stadium where the game is played will host 18 thousand less fans than the last arena. Is this true?

MontyPython7471 votes

yup its at the Miami Filmore, only has 2.7k seating. how i wish they could have done it anywhere else, like the Heat Stadium or a bit more north for the Hard Rock Casino

Ravens69691 votes

What an absolute joke. Almost every year they catered to over 20k fans. Now....2.7....so many fans won't get to go. What a disgrace. Sometimes i wonder what fools manage this company.
