Counter Logic Gaming's Austin "LiNk" Shin slithered all over Team Impulse on Cassiopeia in Week 2 of the NA LCS.
He tells Lolesports that at the moment Cassiopeia is, "a really strong pick in the mid lane. There's not a lot that can really deal with her simply because she has a lot of sustain from her passive, once you hit 100 stacks. She's really scary from all points of the game because she does a lot of damage."
Cassiopeia also brings good crowd control and a certain scare factor to every fight. "If you're facing her you'll just get stunned for two seconds," LiNk says. "In our game, you saw how strong Cassiopeia can be, both in small skirmishes and teamfights." He also explains how she can infinitely spam her Twin Fang ability on Dragon and Baron, making her great at controlling objectives.
As for LiNk's somewhat unique item build this game, he gives good reason for going Archangel's Staff first. "Cassiopeia has a lot of mana problems until you get [Tear of the Goddess] stacks going. Once you get Tear stacks going and you have a large mana pool, when you kill things with Twin Fang, you restore a lot of mana. The more mana you have, the more it will scale. Also, it's one of the most cost efficient items because not only does it give you mana which she needs, but it also gives you a shield once it charges up."
Afterwards, he went into Abyssal Scepter because Impulse had a lot of magic damage with Corki, Lulu, Janna, and Xerath. LiNk wanted to make sure not to get poked down too much, and later explains he would have gone for a Rabadon's Deathcap and Void Staff to finish off his core item build.
You can watch LiNk and Counter Logic Gaming play again tomorrow versus Cloud9 right here on Lolesports. If you miss it or any of the Week 2 matches, you can catch them via our spoiler-free VODs page.
