Fantasy Cheat Sheet: Summer 2016 Week 8

Forget overall standings. Each team only has 4 games left, and those are the only games that matters to Fantasy LCS owners now. Look at the upcoming schedule of your players carefully, and don't be afraid to cut bait on a "better" player if they have a far worse schedule ahead than someone available for pickup. Good luck!

Week 8 Roster News

Note: This list includes changes announced before the article's posting. Be sure to check the official Fantasy LCS site for updates!

  • OG: Toaster is starting over xPeke.
  • C9:BunnyFufuu is OUT, Smoothie is full-time starter.

Week 8 Studs

These dominant players have everything they need to crush the competition this week. We expect them to be among the best in their role for fantasy.

  • TOP Expect (vs. UOL, S04): Expect is on a rampage, and these soft opponents won't even slow him down.
  • JUN Trick (vs. UOL, S04): 71 combined points against these two teams previously. The #1 jungler will continue to set the pace this week.
  • MID Pobelter (vs. APX, NRG): His points keep going up (99 last week). Should have plenty of room to style on his opponents again.
  • ADC Doublelift (vs. P1, NV): Unstoppable. Only 4 points behind Rekkles for top fantasy-scorer of the Split. This week will help him seize the #1 spot.
  • SUP Biofrost (vs. P1, NV): The #2 scorer on TSM last week. The Baylife train is taking everyone to the top!

Week 8 Underdogs

You may have doubted these players, but we think they'll outperform expectations this week and be worth a starting spot -- despite only being owned in less than 50% of Fantasy LCS leagues.

  • TOP Ray (vs. IMT, FOX): It doesn't matter that APX isn't winning games -- Ray keeps getting points (#2 top overall). If he can tilt Huni, this might be his highest-scoring week yet.
  • JUN Trashy (vs. H2K, FNC): Lot of risk against these opponents, but SPY and Trashy (#4 jungler overall) have been looking better each week. It's time to prove themselves.
  • MID Froggen (vs. APX, CLG): This one's a bit crazy, but is likely the best option available if you need to pick up a mid laner right now. Neither of his opponents play through mid lane, and should allow Froggen to power-up hassle free.
  • ADC Toaster (vs. GIA, FNC): Looked strong against the bottom-tier teams last week -- 90 points, #3 ADC. That makes me entirely comfortable with taking a risk on him this week.
  • SUP Hybrid (vs. GIA, FNC): Hybrid scored great alongside his new lane partner last week. This'll be a bigger test, but he should still turn out decent points, at worst.

Week 8 Benchwarmers

Even the best players run into bad matchups that'll spoil their Fantasy scores from time to time. You shouldn't risk starting these high-scoring picks, but you can't afford to drop them either -- stash them safely on your bench for this week.

  • NV's Seraph: Despite being the most-owned player of Team Envy, Seraph hasn't really impressed fantasy owners since Week 3. This week's brutal schedule isn't the cure.
  • H2K's Freeze: This is more hunch than fact, so take it with a grain of salt. But if H2K want to get Forgiven more experience before playoffs, this seems the perfect week to sub him in for a match or two.

Week 8 Investment Pickups

If you're looking for long-term gains, think about stashing one of these potential future-studs on your bench. They're owned in less than 25% of leagues right now, but we think they're on their way to fantasy glory.

  • OG's Toaster: OG is finally playing a fair 5v5 this Split, and they dominated bottom-tier teams last week (#3 ADC). He has a tough schedule ahead, but I think OG can pull it off.
  • NV's Hakuho: Don't start him this week (TSM and C9 back to back -- eek!), but pick him up for Week 9, where he faces FOX and P1.

Good Luck!

Be sure to watch the games this week as you cheer on your Fantasy LCS players! You can keep track of the upcoming matches on our NA LCS Schedule and EU LCS Schedule.
