Fantasy Love/Hate Week 5
By now, you understand the drill of fantasy LCS. Start a stud or two and the prospects of victory look rosy, but one mishap and it's a loss instead. Week 5 is upon the LCS and so is another edition of love or hate.
For Fantasy LCS Week 5, We Love…
WildTurtle (vs. DIG/EG) - Crisis averted. After their 2-0 Week 4, TSM is in strong form and snugly sit in the upper bracket of the NA LCS standings. A big part of the team's turnaround is their ADC, WildTurtle. In the first three weeks of the split, WildTurtle's 118.61 total points were behind Supports such as Mor, Nyph, and nRated. Then in Week 4, he was top weekly scorer overall (69.04). This week, WildTurtle faces Team Dignitas, who allowed Sneaky to dominate with a 5-1-6 score (along with a match-leading 311 CS) and EG, a team plagued with inconsistency. Needless to say, WildTurtle could be the weekly points leader again.
Woolite (vs. SHC/ALL) - By now, Woolite should be a notable Fantasy LCS name. He's been the outlier player for his team, Copenhagen Wolves (2-8) and outperformed his projections since his first game. Last week's poor 12.99 point performance was a contribution of two factors: a Copenhagen Wolves' blowout loss against SK Gaming and one less game for the week due to a forfeit. This recommendation is less about his opponents and more about Woolite's consistency throughout the split. Before last week's disastrous score, he was fantasy's 8th highest scoring player.
But We Hate…
Hai (vs. CRS/LMQ) - Hai's upcoming schedule works against him. C9 will face Curse and LMQ, two teams that are on the rise. While Curse's record is 3-7, they showed how they can shut down and execute a game plan to perfection. In their trouncing of LMQ, they suffocated and pressured the main playmakers of LMQ, holding XiaoWeiXiao to 6.67 pts (and Vasilii to 4.09 pts) for the entire game. A similar effect could be put on Hai since he's one of the major shot-callers of C9. LMQ is no pushover either. Despite their loss against the aforementioned Curse, this is still a dangerous team due to their hyper aggressive play style. They're one of the leaders in the NA LCS at 7-3 and pattern games around champion kills and snowball. Games tend to be over by mid game because of Vasilii and XiaoWeiXiao, who have the second and fourth most kills in the NA LCS.
Imaqtpie (vs. TSM/COL) - For Imaqtpie, there is such a thing as "too many mouths to feed." Unfortunately for fantasy owners or managers looking to start the ADC, he's borderline good at this point. With stellar carries Shiphtur and ZionSpartan topping the score charts, there simply is no room for another high-scoring individual. Despite his team already performing at a high level, last week, Imaqtpie only scored 24.83 points (the leader was WildTurtle with 69.04), and currently sits in the bottom half of ADCs in pts/game for the season. He's no longer the focal point he used to be when the team needed his sharpshooting eye to end team-fights.
Jesiz (vs. ALL/SHC) - SK Gaming's upcoming schedule is a tough one -- Alliance and SHC. While Jesiz may find some success against SHC, Alliance is not a team that can be taken lightly. No player that played against Alliance last week had more than 5 kills and only Gambit's niQ and Genja eclipsed 300 CS. Jesiz's 25.94 points last week didn't even touch the top five Mids, let alone the top five scores overall and we expect a similar result in Week 5.
