Worlds 2019 Tickets Purchasing

Hey there. I attended 2016 worlds finals and am planning to attend 2019’s. I did have a rough experience getting tickets due to bots purchasing all the tickets and massive expensive resale. I am sure I am not the only one and hopefully this is looked into for 2019. I got some ideas in order to fix this and maybe you summoners have better ones. My recommendation is to make it so that you have to use your LoL account to buy a pair of tickets. And to mitigate people creating accounts just for that, you can make a requirement of having honor 3 or 4 in order to be elegible. This way you eliminate aram bot accounts, etc., plus you give summoners yet another incentive to foster a positive community. I know that selling tickets via the LoL site would get hectic, but I was thinking you could log on to your LoL account in order to get a promo code which can be used at the ticket site in order to get priority access to tickets. And also make a few tickets available to the general public w/o a LoL account, that way anyone has an opportunity, but you still prioritize selling tickets to players who took their time to level their account’s honor; to those really interested in attending and not just make some cash via resale. Anyways, I’d like to know what you all think and hopefully we can also know what are Riot’s plans for this. Thanks ^^

Not a good idea considering some people who get punished (and pushed to honor 0/1/2) wouldn't be eligible. Not only that, but some people who attend don't actually play League, like significant others, family members, etc.

Blockchain technology already handles this problem. I opened a ticket with Riot (knowing that they will most probably ignore me) with the following message:

Hi,

so Riot, how will you avoid the Worlds tickets being stolen by bots in 8 seconds again like last year? Did you even try this year to put a system in place which will force "tickets-by-name", "max amount per creditcard" or "only tickets bought from the official channel are valid"? Or even beter, use a ticketsales-partner (like world leader sales company Ticketmaster) that uses blockchain technology to complete stops bots: https://medium.com/robin/guest-post-battle-ticket-bots-with-blockchain-why-not-cfc0edc70656 https://cointelegraph.com/news/ticketmaster-to-enhance-ticketing-system-with-blockchain-in-new-partnership

Or do you just don't care about this and will hide behind an excuse like "this is the job of our partner that is handling the sales"? You do know that reselling of tickets in Europe is illegal (see "Unfair Commercial Practices Directive, Annex 1"?

If you ever want to be taken seriously, then you better start caring about this please. Please forward this email to the appropriate senior managers/directors responsible for the ticket sales and organising the Worlds event.

Solutions exists (see above links), and it costs you nothing extra. You just need to partner up with a good company that uses blockchain.

Thanks,

I suggest that as many people as possible do the same...

Also. Don't need to make it 100% of the tickets. Make it 50%. Honor 3 4 or 5.
