How does everyone feel about Riot making a hall of fame for all those pro's who have retired and really made a large impact on the League of Legends. I think it's important to recognize these people more.

It's a good idea but look at what Riot doesn't do at the same time.

Riot doesn't even keep up with player stats for their career.
X Caster " So how good is Faker ?"
Y Caster " He's really good" No mention of historic stats from really any player for that matter. Think about trying to talk about professional League to someone and they got the game part but need help with " who is the best" sure you can tell them Faker, Bang, Bjergsen etc but what if that person says " How many kills does Faker have" ? Or how many times has X player led their league in Assists, Cs etc.

Riot barely if not even mention all ready retired players. When was the last time you heard about Imaqtpie? Cyanide? Voyboy? Link ? Sure maybe 1-2 mentions once every 4 weeks or so but I personally can't think of the last time Riot or the casters talk about these players or what they did. I remember reading a post a few weeks ago about casters not even talking about a certain player; that certain player was Alex Ich and the casters didn't even really say his name instead it was " that mid" no comments about historic events that player took place in or how he helped put League on the map. Rekkles achieved 167 Kills in 28 games but no mention of another player reaching that kill mark within 28 games in past splits. RobertLeeX had over 10K cs in 28 games and no mention of players breaking that milestone at the time or in current splits.

Production of stats/ Retired/current players In game fans are watching Piglet mid and the production crews could pops up a comparison chart to say Links' and Piglet's stats at mid so the casters can talk about their stats or this that what they did better etc but they don't.

Long story short Riot/League has the potential of being like the WWE as far as a Hall of Fame goes but at this point if they did do a Hall of Fame it's looking to be like something from TNA if anything. I know Wrestling and League are complete opposites but just saying from a stand point of what they seem to be going with instead.

Yeah, the problem with your idea (which I think many can agree with) is that they don't have enough "history" to kinda warrant this stuff. While the possibility exists that they could impliment it in the near future, what's to say that this game doesn't immediately go bankrupt in the next decade or so while other games (overwatch) climb? To use your WWE comparison, it's been around (in some iteration) for more than 50 years and up until very recently has started to see a massive "drop-off" in people warranting hall of fame induction (beth phoenix 2016, NOT HAVING F'CKING VADER IN ALREADY DESPITE THE FACT HE MIGHT DIE IN THE NEXT YEAR). In the case of this game, assuming they use the same "rules" as WWE has right now (must be retired as a performer for at least 1 year, and must have contributed some noteworthy moment) I could see the pool dying off incredibly fast, especially with most of the SKT players still playing and guys like lemon/hai popping in/out of retirement all the time. Stats are only a small amount of the pool and ultimately probably wouldn't matter too much (if rito really wanted to, they could hire a team to just pull up all the stats anyways, easy peasy).

Oh, and there already is an e-sports hall of fame thingy going on, so I really don't understand why LoL needs their own aside from trying to get people to fap more to western players.

TLDR: Game has been out for too little to warrant a hall of fame, pool of "worthy" candidates would dry up far too fast, a generic esports hall of fame already exists making it a bit weird for this game to have its own one

Even so about not having enough " history" they could actually START at some point 2 years become 3, 3 becomes 4 next thing it's 8 years and no real effort or production as far as "history" or even keeping track of player stats.
What would be your guess as far as Riot not showing the stats for the players' careers? Like you said if they wanted they could do it " easy peasy" but why won't they?

WWE Hall of fame they did it I thought 1 wrestler per year but around 05 the started to put around 6-7 wrestlers(entertainers) which in my opinion is too many and the # of inductees will be very limited because of it.
Like you said Beth Phoenix is a whatever induction but IDK what she did before WWE but even so she's a woman and WWE seems to put 1 female wrestler in each year and at that who's next Torri Wilson, Dawn Maria no offense but... just because they can doesn't mean they should be in it. Vader is sad, and honestly I thought he was going to have already been in the Hall around 08-09 when he returned at Taboo Tuesday or Cyber Sunday for the 1v3 handicap match.

I didn't say anything about doing a Hall of Fame NOW all I said was "It's a good idea" but like you said the inductees will be very limited once you actually look at it.

I know I seem annoying to some if not to everyone on these boards with my rambling about stats and for that I am sorry.

For me, the "logic" behind not posting players' career stats has a lot to do with the sheer amount of time it'd take to put it up and maintain it (assuming they kept track of teams as well, it'd be a giant pain as some players hop off/on teams once a split, looking at you freeze). Think of it like this: you're asking rito (a company that can't even make half of their characters relevant at any given time) to not only keep track of tens of thousands of players (including subs/challenger/"ulol") but also include data about them? Looks to be heavily unrealistic for them to do it, mind you seeing players get inducted into the generic esports hall of fame could be a possibility (assuming any of them become as relevant as the likes of faker).

Your WWE point kinda ties in quite a bit with it, and sums up my idea quite beautifully. WWE was around for about 30-40 years prior to adding their hall of fame in the early 90s, did one per year (starting with andre) because at the time, their options were ridiculously limited, as let's not forget that WCW was their enemy and many current hall of famers were still working. Once they had a big enough pool to work with, then they could start including more.

The inclusion of Beth Phoenix and not Vader into this hall of fame class, while it kinda makes sense, also kinda doesn't. I can understand they don't want to include Chyna into it for a while (as "apparently" they're against controversy despite the fact that 60% of their current Hall of Fame would've violated their wellness policy at some point in their careers, and let's also not forget the whole Macho Man thing), what I can't understand is why they chose to stick to their 1 woman per year rule so religiously instead of using the draw power of Vader while he's still alive/to potentially draw new japan fans. Let's not forget, this is a guy who MAIN EVENTED in new japan, was a main-event talent in WCW, could've been a main event talent in WWE if they had let him do his thing, and opened up so many doors for agile big-men like umaga/bray/elgin (including new japan again). Considering WWE is currently in a war with new japan over talent, it could've been ridiculously smart to induct what is possibly the greatest Gaijin wrestler of all time, if only to attract potential future stars like Elgin (really hope he doesn't go) Omega (also hope he doesn't go over) and Adam Cole baybay (really don't care if he goes over or not, as he's become the roman reigns of bullet club).

Also don't care too much about the rants, as since I decided to quit this game a few days ago/focus on other things (want to finally hit $100m on stardew valley) I've focused less and less on the boards.

Yeah, does take time for someone to do up the stats; I know first hand the work that goes into it, so I agree.

Yeah, I'v stopped playing a while ago(2 weeks) and soon will my viewership of LCS. I either just need a break which after the Playoffs makes the most sense and just catch up to 2017 Summer Playoffs or just quit watching as I'm just not enjoying it as much as I once did and it has nothing to do with the champion diversity for me.

As far as the boards I post every now and then mainly for the same o' topics as i'm sure you're aware but also for the discussions with people( you) if you don't mind me including you?

IDK what Stardew Valley is personally; just looked at a video kinda looks like (Hay day) or something but good luck with your $100m goal.

The problem I found with this game ultimately became "should I stay around something that tilts me constantly?". While I did have some fun moments (mordy mid pentakill last week), the combination of that and work made me far too stressed out on a daily basis, choosing the latter because rito doesn't pay me $50k a year to play this game.

If you've heard of "harvest moon", then that's basically what stardew valley is only in 8-bit. Essentially a farming simulator on steam (only costs like $10 too, so it's high value) where your goal is make your farm the best, whether it be by growing crops/fishing/combat.

Same, people often tell me to just play normal games but the tilt is everywhere in League.
Sounds interesting the Stardew Valley does so I might have to give that a try.

Not gonna happen. HoF usually requires a person to have not played for X amount of years. Online games come and go.

A hall of fame in the traditional sense is rather impossible. Nobody is going to visit it. Video games tend to come and go far more rapidly, etc etc.

But Riot could make a wall of fame on the internet. That would be cool.

Seems like an expensive undertaking with minimal potential for profit or even breaking even - unless Riot did it all virtually online I don't think it would be worth the investment at this time. That aside, it would be a cool idea. But who and what goes in the hall of fame? teams that win world championships? players who win regional titles year after year? teams who make the biggest upsets? players who have "techniques" named after them (insec, flame horizon, etc.)?

And who decides: Riot, fans, analysts, combination? And where would this be located if an actual physical building? Or would it be a uber expensive mobile display that travels to all-star and world events?

Besides stats what is included? Jerseys? PC equipment used by that player or team? Flags? Photos? Etc.?
