since when are eSports athletes recognized by the US government?

Do your own research
A) It's not all of them (I know a ton of people, specifically ones in impoverished countries, have tried getting work visas by using this)
B) From what I can understand they were recognized as early as 2011 in the US, 2008 in Canada (Canada's being far stricter as up until a few years ago the visas only lasted a month)
