Update: Fan Contribution to Worlds 2017 Prize Pool

While the battles rage on between the top teams from around the globe at the 2017 World Championship, let’s take a quick look at how your contributions are impacting the Worlds 2017 prize pool and the global charity fund.

Worlds Prize Pool

As we previously announced, 25% of Championship Ashe and Championship Ward purchases will go toward the prize pool and be split among the teams participating at Worlds 2017 based on their final placement, check out the breakdown below:

1st place: 37.5%
2nd place: 13.5%
3rd/4th place: 7% (14% total)
5th-8th place: 4% (16% total)
9th-12th place: 2.25% (9% total)
13th-16th place: 1.25% (5% total)
17th-20th place: 0.75% (3% total)
21st-24th place: 0.5% (2% total)

Charity

Additionally, Riot will match 25% of all Championship Ashe sales during Worlds 2017 to be donated to three global charities. You can vote on which cause you support the most—the higher your Honor level, the more weight your vote carries. The highest-voted charity will get 50% of the total pool, and the remaining amount will be split equally between the other two.

Right now, the total prize pool is $4,072,101 and fans have contributed $1,850,000! All purchases of Championship Ashe and the Championship Ward will continue to funnel into the prize pool until November 5 at 11:59 PM PT. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates and continue sending your energy to the team you deem worthy!

I won't spend another dime on this game. Letting the moneybags behind organizations like Cleveland cavaliers have a spot. They are using the overwatch excuse for IMT. If they're more invested in that and riot truly cared, they wouldn't let NBA organizations join either from being more invested in something else other than league. Nah, it was purely a money hungry move and found an excuse to not let IMT join.

it may be a necessary step but you don't stomp on the ones that help build the league immortals have been operating at a loss the meaning it has been costing them money to run a NA LCS team why because they understood it was an investment and that the scene had to grow they took the risk because they believed in this game and league they like the other teams put it on the line when it was a long shot they came before these huge bank rolls seen a profit to be made its not that we are pissed they let these people in the league its how they were let in and its simple the more current NA LCS teams denied = new huge bank roll teams. yes the league could use that very much but not at the expense of established teams this teams deserve the chance to at least fail in the new NA LCS bring in the bank roll teams cool but do it by expanding the amount of teams or let the sitting teams decide if they want to keep their spot or sell their spot but to not give them the choice is nothing less than robbery because they did that robbed these teams of their investments its low and disgusting..... so before we argue if riot did the smart thing ask yourself did they do the right thing but look at it from the teams point of view and the fans because they are the ones losing riot gains as do the new bank rolls so look at the losing side and what they lost and why...... have a nice day and go C9

imt wanting to build an entire stadium purely for overwatch, is showing they are not that invested into league. They dont even have a lot of sponsors, which means that almost no income to begin with. the fact that they are spending it on other things means that they have very little to support the team which is bad for the players. The players can be picked up on richer teams and make more money even if they fail which is better for the players themselves. also compared to clg, c9 and tsm they arent that well established. The likes of olleh and xmithe are 100% gonna be picked up and obviously they are the only ones that ppl actually care about, flame and pob most likely will as well. Yes it does suck for us fans that a good team will be gone, but all in all its better for the players. if they truly are good players they can show it being on different teams.

They didn't "kick" immortals from the LCS. Every team had to submit an application for franchising. In that application their job was to show that they had a long term, vested interest in the League and were going to take it seriously and see it as a priority for their organization. Immortals failed to do that. I believe I read something about their current priorities and investments being funneled into their Overwatch team. Plain and simple, other teams presented a better long term investment plan.

what other teams the only teams coming back are c9 tsm clg echo and liquid the rest have lost their spot to huge bank rolls some of the best teams from NA have lost spots not only that but to top it off most of them learned of this from tweets....... I understand a few teams mainly ones that have had trouble with funding not accepted but to think this has anything to do with overwatch investment is just crazy because one of the new lcs spot is who? Do a bit of research. IMT lost their spot because they didn't want it. Immortals is more invested in their Overwatch team, thus are not committed to League. So their spot goes to someone who is.

Yes they are being forced out is because they decided to invest millions of dollars into a report with a very small history, being an extremely large gamble. Riot probably decided that Immortals finances won't in order enough to support all the investments they are making, so choose to go with someone else. By joining franchises LCS all the team's become parts with riot's pcs department, sharing renevue, brandings, etc so it's important everyone pulls their wait. Riot probably decided that Immortals couldn't, and/or were tak8ng to big of a risk with owl. *then why let c9 and optic in? both of them probably showed to riot that even if owl shits it's self and isn't profitable, that they could still be fine and wouldn't effect the lcs.

Kicking an organization whose players work hard, because of the organization failures, is a failure by riot. if you have an industry standard, is it really professional to exclude people or should you be using your resources to help bring them to your standards.

A real leader doesn't cast the lower performing teams (business wise, or playing on stage wise) they would help add points to that lower organizations score board to help advance themselves and breed competition. the players are good. the organization isn't. so lets punish them all. that's a terrible decision

especially for a community that preaches about how they want to help make the game a safe none toxic place, but then punishes people for giving feedback. and doesn't help them grow at all.
