Are you talking about Worlds? If so, no there isn't a 3rd place match. You either win Worlds or you don't.

Teams don't care about 3rd place. I understand for the prize pool 3rd place gets more money than a 4th place winner but if that's the case the 8 teams who were eliminated in group stage needs to play in a 16th-9th place games and the 4 teams eliminated in the QT Finals would face in a 8-5th place games etc etc.
If the money isn't a reason to play there just isn't a reason to play for a 3rd place. It's like what Riot did for the NA LCS before the point system was introduced teams back in 2013-14 teams would face in a 5th and 3rd place games in which at that point especially for the Summer Split had no meaning to them.

Unfortunately, there is no third place match. I don't think there ever was one, unless the first worlds had one, not sure about that one.
