Samsung White routs Samsung Blue in the Semifinal

What we hoped would be the closest, most impressive, match of the tournament turned out to be a rout. Samsung White outplayed Samsung Blue at every step, and outside of a few skirmishes in the early game, Blue never found their footing in the match. There were many pocket picks revealed for both teams, giving the impression that the Samsung teams had been sandbagging through the Group Stage. But in the end, the mechanical execution and champion select of White were the keys to their World Championship Final birth.

Game One

This game was an absolute stomp. Samsung White came out of the gates quickly and it wasn't until 18 minutes in that Samsung Blue even found a kill. Great skirmishes for White throughout the early game gave them an incredible lead. Several aces by White allowed them to close out the game with a 20,000 gold lead before 30 minutes.

Game Two

The early game started off about as well as it could for Samsung Blue. A level one first blood for Bae "Dade" Eo-jin earned him a Tear of the Goddess. An early dragon fight gave both Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu and Dade double jungle buffs. Dade also earned a five minute Tear + Catalyst of the Protector. Yet still, Blue wasn't able to snowball their advantages. Heo "PawN" Won-seok's Jayce once again tore through the SSB backline, and there was no answer. Choi "Acorn" Cheon-ju's surprise Galio pick was largely ineffective and Blue's normally great team fighting was nullified.

Game Three

Blue started off Game Three with a wrecked psyche -- the game was total annihilation. Nothing went well for Blue here. as they made misplays all over the map while White completely styled on them. Their only chance to get momentum was a great Twisted Fate gank initiated by Dade that transitioned into a 5 vs. 3 dragon fight. But the fight backfired and Blue never could find breathing room afterwards.

On to the next one…

In a total show time of less than three hours, Samsung White ran Blue out of the building behind great team play and MVP performances from Pawn, particularly on Jayce. If Samsung White sweeps whichever Chinese team advances, as everyone expects to happen - Who would have ever thought that the team to give White their toughest challenge would be TSM??

It wasn't TSM and nor did TSM challenge White. The only reason White lost to TSM is because they got cocky, like they do, and analysts say this too. Though, congrats to TSM for being down 2-0 and still playing hard and trying to at least win a game, unlike Blue, who honestly for me never showed up this tournament. Their mid/late game has looked questionable and were pushed far by C9.

White also had lots of mistakes in G3 against TSM but honestly, they haven't been challenged at all this tournament.

Not really, Trolling TSM fan-a-puss. C9 destroyed Blue G1 and made G4 a close one. TSM scraped a win off a bored White team. White never had to worry about a comeback by TSM, so why not play a ridiculously cocky team comp.

You need to rewatch game 4 and see how challenged White was. TSM nearly won that and would have if Amazing didn't jump ahead of the rest of the team.

LOL! I find it funny that an unintelligent troll is insulting my intelligence. They didn't respect TSM and paid for it by losing hard. TSM would have won game 4 had Amazing not jumped ahead of the team and crushed SSW in Game 5 after they have been demoralized from that loss.

TrollFan, you're delusional. How in the world was TSM going to stand a chance. White literally troll picked the first 2 games and still crushed them. They were extremely careless game 3 and lost and even if they had somehow lost to TSM in game 4, there would have been no way they lost game 5. Stop being a fanboy and look at the obvious. You don't have to love Korea to know that the best in Korea can crush NA, much less TSM. They aren't even as good as C9. If you don't believe me on that one, ask any League analyst. They'll set you straight. It's fine to like a team, but disregarding facts and analysts to fit your delusion is extremely frustrating.

I am personally voting for SSW because I actually have been following OGN/Hot6ix and I'm Korean, and it's so obvious that all the butthurt little fanboys of TSM are down voting everyone who is saying TSM wouldn't have won, which is pretty funny considering it's already facts. You can keep talking about TSM winning game 5, but in the end, your little NA team got murked. There are no facts after that, only assumptions, which you clearly have a strong assumption about. It's a shame Bjerg can't carry the amount of trash on that team. the bronze is really showing.

This game was staged. Samsung organization knew that this would be their last year to have 2 teams in the finals. The samsung blue organization was told/their coaching staff was informed to suggest odd picks <varus, galio> in order to throw off blue's game. Dade was also informed to do as he pleased and play as though it was a scrim. This is a hoax Blue vs White game.

Prime example: Dade's ryze goes back into a dragon fight that they have already won just to die, he knows he is weaker scaling and such.

All staged. Samsung feared blue wouldn't beat an early game chinese team but knew that white could.

You have som points here, and it is true that Blue would struggle. But still Blue has been very inconsistent and underperforming this tournament so it is actually not strange. White making mistakes in group stage was more them having fun, you could see it on em.

Both these teams are extremely good and a great fun to watch in the Korea semifinals. But this was nothing like it, this was underperforming by Blue not staged.

They are both the best teams in LoL atm, they have only lost 1 bo5 that wasn't to eachother to KT Arrows (who won the tournament, beating SSB in finals). And SSB has beaten SSW 2/3 times so they are still the "best" by stats.

SSW picked Akali. SSB picked Varus. It's like SSB doesn't ever play in Solo Que. Mobility creep has made Varus so impotent. Akali just points and clicks. Nobody should have been surprised about how the first match turned out. Then SSB got demoralized because they got caught being stupid when they thought they were being clever.

Soloque is different from competitive play lol everything is different when you can communicate with your team. I mean Twitch is immobile but its the Samsung's most played champ, the Varus pick could have worked but Blue just haven't practiced for an Akali pick so that hit them then the rest is history.

Deft has played Varus in importantant matches in Korea before, and they tried to surprise White with an unexpected comp in first game to try snag a win. Sadly white managed to hold off.

If I said I predicted SSW to pick Akali Akali in the first game before even the banning started, would you believe me? I really can't believe she Isn't picked more often. With these teams going 1 and sometimes No tanks per game, Akali Akali could just shred through all that squishyness. Looper also did a fantastic job playing Akali Akali , playing extreme no risk early to make sure Akali Akali snowballed. I really hate the Koreans teams just because I think they're overrated but since the Akali Akali pick I will look at SSW with venerability. I main Akali Akali btw
