Bo3 is fine. The dual stream is a bad. A really bad call. I dont like that call.

Why? It allows them to maintain a fairly reasonable working day while still fitting in all the content that we want. I think it's a great solution... and there's always the VoDs if you're looking to see both sides.

OGN has done Bo3s for how many years? Do they do dual streams?

Technically they do this split with SPOTV starting to take some of the games for themselves. True they haven't needed to in the past, but they've also done it over more days, which Riot obviously doesn't want to do (which is strange imo, I feel it's easier to stomach a match or two per day rather than trying to binge on 4 matches at a time, I love competitive league, but even I need a break).

I don't know what your point is here... 'ogn doesn't do it that way' is not an argument against dual streams... it's just blind Korean fanboying.

What is the actual REASON you don't want dual streams? Do you just hate that you'll have to watch VoDs to catch all the games? Because, if that's all it is, then quit yer bitchin'.

Because I hate VODs. I love watching live. So likely I will never watch one of the streams.

Also, it's rare that I am actually able to find the VOD location without getting to a match spoiler first.

Finally, there has always been a lag between match end and VOD availability...

Why do you hate VoDs? What's wrong with them, from your perspective?

They are essentially the same experience except you don't have to watch the ads and you can skip straight to the action if you want during a VoD.

The spoiler concern is somewhat valid, but easily solved by bookmarking the VoD page or just storing it in history and going straight there.

Yes, there is a lag. usually a couple hours while they parse the video and upload it. Only ever seen it be more than a day once and that was a long time ago.

There are a plethora of advantages... reduced cost, less stress on the players and the staff, the ability to avoid games you don't care about without just not watching anything, the ability to keep more games during primetime, etc.

All in trade off of one tiny little annoyance: some people have a weird hatred of VoDs.

Seems like a win to me.

Not one of these is an advantage for me.. You are making the argument why Riot would want to do this.. And I would agree with you...

But it is never going to be as good for me as going to Twitch at 12 pacific time, kicking back on the couch and watching all the LCS action that day...

Those are actually still advantages to you - you're just not thinking about it logically.

If it costs less, Riot can put on a better show overall and put more into the overall production. Good for all of us.

If it's easier on the players, they'll play better, meaning overall better and more competitive matches. Better matches are more fun to watch.

Keeping more games during primetime means more potential viewers overall which again leads to more money for it, which leads to better production values, and so on.

The avoiding games you don't like only matters if there are teams you prefer not to watch, which is a personal thing. But the format has long-term benefits that trickle down to making things better for all of us, if you really think about it logically.
