Some questions
How come during the top and bit lane swap, the new bot lane can live. And also, why does the top laner follow the jungler around in the jungle helping with everything.

Lane Swaps happen when a team wants to keep the enemy top laner (solo) down, wants to get farm and levels on their adc (which can be prevents if they go 2v2), or would like the early global gold from a tower.
The top laner, follows the jungle generally because they would not be getting much gold or experience in early 2v1 as they can get pushed off the wave. So they follow the jungler and pick up some gold and experience (usually 1-3 minions worth) before the lane hits the tower. Once it hits the tower they are usually safe to farm the wave.
I say usually safe because Jungler and other top laner can come in for a dive, or any number of other things can happen.
They swap so one can try to get an advantage. And so the adc can farm
If the bot lane is weak compared to the opponents, they will try to lane swap
As for the jungle thing, if it is someone like a hecarim, he isnt gonna get anything against say a graves annie lane, so he just soaks up some xp in the jungle
