LCS Contract?
Hey guys, just wanted to know what exactly happens when a player's contract expires. Can they choose to continue playing for that team by signing a new contract or are they forced to leave the team?

If it's like any other sport, they become a free agent. At which point they can go to ANY team including the one they were on. But if a team wants to holds on to ap layer without allowing other teams a chance to give them offers they can just pen a contract extension before it expires.
Player Contracts expire the player is allowed to seek out new teams to play for or re-negotiate with their current team. The issue is that the wording of the LCS contracts means players can not (pre-contract end), attempt to find a new team (See Zionspartan/Scarra CLG issue).
I believe it was ggCMontecristo that suggested that all competitive player contracts end the week following Worlds. That way players have months before new seasons of LCK, LPL, LCS to find a new team if that is what they choose.
