Placing in preseason
I've never done any placement matches for ranked before. Is there any difference in doing first ranked matches during preseason or should I wait to place during the season?

Do your placement games when the new season starts.
If you play placement matches during the preseason, the placement games you play during the season after the hard reset will result in a lower rank than what you had during the preseason.
