This is going to be controversial, but I really don't have respect for people that bandwagon for SKT. I know there are fans that watch the LCK and see them play consistently. But 50% of the people cheering for them at worlds are just band wagon hoppers. Its SOO easy to cheer for the team that is supposed to win. have some honor, cheer for a team you learn to love. not the team that wins and is easy to cheer for. Edit: read the whole post please don't just come in and comment "but i'm an skt fan for awhile now" this post doesn't apply to you then because you actually are a true fan :)

Well most people don't really keep up with esports until worlds, so of course they're just to root for the favorites. It's not like there's a hometown team to cheer for.

I'll admit I jumped on the C9 bandwagon in S3. But I've grown to really enjoy watching them, even when they're struggling. I'm never bored watching their games, no matter how uneventful or how long they go on.

Here's hoping they can come up with more than one strategy next season. Maybe two. Double the fun.

I know you said not to comment, but I'd like to simply share my story.

End of S3, I was still unranked and shit at the game. But, I picked up Zed and decided his place style and theme was to my liking and was perfect, and I remember just searching videos on Zed gameplay because to me it's the most interesting champion to watch as he executes his ridiculously cool plays. The name that kept popping up was "Faker" so I looked into Faker and learned he was regarded as basically the best Zed main in the world and that he was part of the korean team SKT T1. So, from that point on I decided I'd stick with SKT as my team to root for, even if it was just for Faker. This had no influence, btw, that SKT had won S3.

So now I'm here, watching every game and rooting for them so I can hopefully buy an SKT skin for a champ I main (Looking at you SKT Viktor).

Because SKT's the only one with bandwagon fans, right OP? TSM, LGD, C9, CLG, Team Liquid, Fnatic, Origen, EDG, TiP, for example, are loaded with bandwagon fans as well.

Every team, across every sport has bandwagon fans. Even professional wrestling or MMA has a lot of bandwagon fans in it. Some of them, have bandwagon fans that make up the majority of their fan base(example, San Diego Chargers).

I've been supporting for OG since I knew xPeke made a new team and even more so after finding out what a nice guy Niels is (he's my favourite pro player now) and I will never hope that an European team will lose, even vs SKT, but after the SKT vs OG match, I wasn't sad. Those games were amazing. Even though my favourite team got CRUSHED, I felt nothing but admiration towards SKT. They play the game so well, they make anyone else look like rookies. I hope FNC can make a change to this but SKT play so well I don't see how they can be beaten. I will not cheer for SKT, but I will applaud them if they win, especially if they play as well as against Origen.

If there's a team that deserves this title most, it's SKT, but I will support for FNC nonetheless. (I have them as Worlds Champions in my Pick 'Em, a bit optimistic, I admit.)

I was rooting for CLG and AHQ, I like KOO and LGD too. The rest of the teams I don't really care about. I hope my boys in Elements can make it next year or maybe roccat so I can have an eu team there i like to cheer for too.

I am no SKT Fan, I am an XPeke and Amazing fan, but that doesnt change the fact that I know SKT would be world champion before worlds even started.

Honor....rofl. I mean I'm not cheering for SKT, but if someone wants to root for a good team cause it's more fun when the team you're rooting for does well, go for it. The idea that there is "honor" tied up in which esports team you cheer for is laughably sad.

Why do you think successful players tend to be successful streamers?

Because people like strong and capable players.

No one in US watches faker for his personality, they watch him b/c he pwnz all.
