I noticed that on the official lolesports site, they use SGW for Samsung White and RYL for Star Horn Royal Club, but in game/during streams their team abbreviations are SSW and SHR instead. Can someone explain to me why they're different?
Not sure about SGW and SSW as last year they were Samsung Ozone, but SHR and RYL have an easy explanation. Last year, the team was just called "Royal Club", reaching the finals but losing 0-3 to SKT T1 K. This year they changed their name to Star Horn Royal Club and their abbreviation to SHR. The website could possibly be a mistake.
Probably the abbreviations are not officially recognized, and are only used for convenience.
possibly a different team has the other abbreviation first and won't give it up.
Their actual team name is Samsung Galaxy White (SGW)
