Gravity Gaming went 2-0 during Week 2 of the NA LCS, blasting off with dominating performances against Team Dignitas and Team Coast. AD carry David "Cop" Roberson played a huge role in their success, rounding out the week with his 500th kill.
"I've been working at [getting 500 kills] for a while now," he says. "I've played every LCS game, so I remember seeing once Doublelift got it and I saw myself fourth or fifth and I'm like, damn I'm pretty far behind. I was kinda sad about that. But I finally broke that, so it feels good. I'm happy."
He was able to pull it off via some stylish Kalista plays. "She's my favorite AD carry," Cop says with a smile. "She's the most entertaining champion in the game right now."
Talking about his match against Coast, he explains how his Kalista could effectively kite around his opponents' engage comp. And even though Matt "Impaler" Taylor's Rengar could jump on her, Kalista easily used surrounding minions to dance around enough to dodge Rengar's Bola Strike. "In the one teamfight where they caught me mid I was able to juke back and forth away from them, and we won that teamfight. She's a really fun, interesting champion."
Looking ahead to Week 3, Cop thinks with the extra mobility added to Kalista in patch 5.2, every AD carry is going to pick her up. Luckily, he's already ahead of the curve. "I like Kalista because I'm a high mechanics type player, as in I like to click a lot and right click nonstop. I'm always moving around the map. I like champions I can play around with and move around with quickly. [With Kalista] I finally have a champion I can do cool 1 vs. 2s with, so I enjoy playing her a lot."
We'll have to wait until next week to see how Kalista continues to fare in the LCS. For now, if you missed any of Week 2, head over to our spoiler-free VODs page.
