Does anyone else find the entire e-sports scene to be incredibly dumb? Am I alone in this?

Like, just embarassing to watch? Riot sinks millions of dollars into their round tables and game inspections and certified talking heads and yet it still comes across as a bunch of fat Asian nerds playing video games

I like watching the games, but every single word that comes out of the announcer's mouths make me want to puke

and another thing shakes cane

That's fine. Personally, I find a bunch of large sweaty men playing with balls to be stupid. Either way, it's just a form of entertainment.

Self edit; its Thanksgiving and I wanted to give thanks to this game that I can never play, it's now the Attempting to Reconnect game, so I called my dad and we had a chat about this e sports community. My dad's a retired 19 year veteran of the air force and watches a lot of hockey. The conversation went like this:

Me: Hey you want to see something really funny Dad: Ok? Me: gives link to twitch feed Dad: Are you sh!tting me? is this real? Me: yes. Yes it is Dad: Hahahahaaahaha laughs for 20 minutes straight

there you have it folks, from the old man himself

People watch tons of stuff for the sake of competition, American idol, voice, big brother, etc. This isn't exactly must see TV. As for pro gaming, i've always found is interesting...i mean we play the same game, and they just play it at a godly lvl. As for the talking heads they do well enough to keep new players/viewers engaged to some extent. They're there to be hype men...do you really need the hispanic announcers screaming gooooooaaaaaaallllllllll!!!! Lets be honest, LoL isn't the most exciting game to watch. You get nearly the same draft, running nearly the same strats, with a game usually decided in the first 15min (esp on a pro lvl) then dragged on for another 20+min.
