LCS Format

Im new to posting here but I have played LOL since 2011. I am an avid esports fan and love watching league as much as possible. With NA recently changing their format to best of 1's it feels really stupid with all the content available. I spend a lot of time watching player interviews and extra coverage content based on League. I feel like the TSM situation in general is fueled by this best of 1 stuff. Like the reason Korea has always been so good is the amount of games played and the time to adapt and learn in a stage performance setting. Like look at SKT in pretty much all of their worlds wins. They lost a tons of matches early and adapted to be the better team in the end. In NA we don't get that chance. Its do or die and then people suck or don't suck based on one game, which in my opinion devalues a lot of the work these players put in everyday to win. I feel like we should at least have a best of 3's to showcase the teams ability to be consistent. Lets face it, best of 1's will never be consistent. If Doublelift decides to accidently click a minion on his vayne E then it could lose him the game. The chances he does that 3 games in a row is negligible. This to me is a problem within the NA scene and teams like TSM and possibly others are struggling based on this. BTW I am NOT a tsm fan, rather I watch specific players such as Doublelift and Jensen. Can a Blue give some insight as to why we have to have this format in NA versus some kinda real tournament feel? Seems like the traditional American way of being lazy to me which hurts esports in general for NA because we only have snap shots of players performance rather that hard data that tells us what is good and what isn't. Any thoughts?

its just a better league to have individual series. Its a more defined way of determining best of the teams

Didn't stop Cloud9 from reaching semis or Fnatic from reaching the finals on what was....oh right...Best of 1 regular seasons! So......point?

do you think Cloud 9 would have made semis in a best of 3 or 5 scenario? with that roster likely not.

Given that they absolutly stomped their korean opponents (who use b03 in regular splits) in a b05 in quarters at worlds...

The reason korea has been so strong in esports historically (has been, not is), is not because of the format (neither EU nor NA was more successful on world when it was a bo3 in regular season btw...). The acceptance for esports is different. They started with coaches and analaysts while the west still had their teamowner be a full time player in the midlane. Their infrasturcute was way better then anything the west had.

Also, not everyone "knows" that bo1 is trash, that's nonsense. There are pros and cons to both formats

Was Afreeca Freecs not a Bo5? Either way, they made it that far with Bo1 RGs so that dismisses your point unless you're looking for championship or nothing.

The most a Bo3 did back in 2016 was benefit slow series starter teams; basically one chance to mess up free. It's the regular season! Why should this have matter?!

Hell what all do you use to prove the format sucks? Some NA=TSM jargon and some 2016-2017 vibe of dispute? How about we recap the trend of last year? Success of a team was cultivated by identity and risk factor more than it was sheer star power and luck. Still shows today; I don't see any once popular household names topping standings with an iron fist among major regions.

I don't think you have enough to prove your point if you're only throwing what ifs at events already happened.
